This place was very misleading with their prices. So we was there on 7/15 /21 . My girlfriends had wanted so crabs so we decide to eat there. The waitress did take a long to come take our order then when she do she tell us about a 10 dollar add on to any entrée. So this is what we had seen on the outside . So we ordered our food now my friend ordered her big size burrito and crab legs my other friend order their meals as well. So we asked again about the special the waitress said yes it is a 10 dollar add on for crabs with an entrée. So they said fin bring us 2 orders of crabs. Now it is only 4 of us so 2 get crabs with their meal. We finish get the bill it says $275 dollars. We was like oh hell no for 4 plates of food. I only had chicken($24) and 1 drink($9). Everyone else had soda . All our meals was should of been around $ 40 dollars. Well they charged us full prices these crabs and they was 44 dollars a peice as if we had an entrée. These was no king legs just regular small legs. We ask to speak to the manager he told the waitress tell them it is what it is and he is not changing any thing. We said we was not leaving till he came over. So he came to our table mind he had a bad attitude from the time he walked over. Was rude telling us he had to make his money back because of covid. Then he assumed we could not afford our meal which we all could. So he said did the waitress explain it we all said no. She said a 10 dollar add on to your entrée if you order crabs. He says well it is so we said we ordered a plate for 29 with a 10 dollar add on if we added crabs come to 39 dollars. He says no she should of said you have to pay full price for crabs as a entrée and they add 10 to that crab entrée. We never was told that and we only had crabs. Not the entrée. Well he never gave us any money back and said he was not I was so mad I walked out because I wanted to cuss this man the f**k out. We told him his special was misleading you jacking prices way too high and your waitress needs to explain in more detail about that so called SPECIAL!!🤬🤬 SO IF YOU EAT THERE BE PREPARED TO PAY OVER THE TOP FOR A SIMPLE...
Read moreWent last night with two friends of mine, and the experience was extremely underwhelming.
The overwhelming theme of the meal was the lack of air conditioning. We sat in the dining room and the hostess didn't bother to mention that their AC in that section didn't work. I'm talking 85F+ with no air flow. It was actually more comfortable outside after we left. Our waitress DeAnna was very friendly but it couldn't make up for the lack of climate control.
As for food, we had the crawfish hush puppies, seafood potato skins, and mozzarella sticks. The hush puppies were awful; there wasn't a trace of crawfish flavor and they were overcooked and dry. The potato skins used a cheese blend that didn't compliment the seafood and there was no seasoning on them. The mozzarella sticks were pretty good, but honestly at a Cajun restaurant your mozzarella sticks shouldn't be the pinnacle of your appetizers.
Salad with the Cajun ranch dressing was fine.
We had two beers and a mixed drink, the mixed drink was fine but the beers came out not very cold and they rapidly got warm cuz no A/C. This might have been the only time I've ever only had one beer for dinner.
Entrees were a bit better. I had the blackened prime rib which was a decent sized portion that was cooked to temp and had a ton of flavor. The browns as a side were decent. One of my friends ordered the jambalaya as mild, but found it didn't have much flavor at all and minimal protein. My other friend ordered the filet topped with crab and thought the steak and crab were great, but was unpleasantly surprised by the boring white rice as a side.
Two of us brought half our entrees home and ate them an hour later when we could enjoy them... in air conditioning. I don't mean to harp on the lack of air conditioning, but the hostess didn't warn us about it, our waitress didn't offer to move us to the bar area where it was more comfortable, and we just tried to get out as soon as possible when otherwise we would've stayed for dessert and more drinks.
In my opinion, skip appetizers and avoid it entirely until they get their A/C...
Read moreMore like 3.5 stars (mostly due to the inconsistency of the food quality) First time at this place since we bought a condo a couple of years ago nearby. I was not impressed with the food. Service was great, we had a young woman with an accent that sounded Russian (maybe?). She was great! Live band was playing over on the bar side...also great! I see they have live music almost every night, so we will be back for that. Not for the food though, though admittedly once is not really enough to go on, but I will try something different next time. We got the Cajun sampler to start. It came out with our meal, which was not ideal. It was steak, chicken and shrimp cooked in a blackening seasoning. Steak was melt-in-your-mouth, chicken was very good, and the shrimp...I wish there were more than 2. My entree, however, was bleh. The Jambalaya claimed 3 peppers on the menu, and the server even asked if I like spicy food because it is spicy. I presumed it was Cajun, since Jambalaya is typically Cajun, it wasn't; it was Creole (tomato-based instead of a Cajun roux). It was not spicy in the least, my 1 year old grandson could have eaten it without a problem, and I am not exaggerating. The chicken was chewy, which was a very odd texture for chicken. The sausage was not andouille sausage as you would expect, but tasted more like hotdog. Again, the shrimp was amazing. It was loaded it yellow and green onion, and too much bell pepper, yet it lacked flavor. Overall it was bland and tasteless aside from the tomato base and hotdog. Wife got the steamed shrimp and a baked potato. Again...shrimp amazing. Baked potato was standard fare and no complaints about it. We were surprised when the server brought a bread pudding to us for dessert. She said it was because the appetizer came out late. We were pondering a dessert when she brought it out. It was very good. Overall, I would come back to give it another try, at least they have music if the meal is not the greatest again, and I can walk there. Hopefully the next NOLA-style food I order tastes a little...
