I am putting a one start because no stars is not an option. We visited the West Ocean City location and had a great experience. We came to the second location today and could not be more dissatisfied. Not only was our server rude and disrespectful (in a restaurant where we are literally the only two to be served,) but we never ordered chips and salsa and it came to our table which was great, but once we decided after her actions that we no longer wanted to eat here because of her we ordered a simple taco just so we could leave a tip and not be rude by just leaving. We were then billed for extra chips and salsa. One we never ordered them to begin with, two it is clearly stated on the menu that the first basket of chips and salsa is a courtesy. So were we being punished for only ordering a taco? We wanted to walk out all together, but to be kind we ordered at least something. We will never return to this location and the staff clearly need to be properly trained in customer service. Don’t bring something to someone’s table that is offered as a courtesy and then charge for something that was never ordered. Hopefully she is more respectful to other guests.
First impression: Hostess was texting on her phone and didn't notice we were there until my wife got her attention. The carpet was all dirty and covered with food crumbs and chips. All the empty booths and tables were dirty. She cleaned a table for us. I ordered their sampler as an appetizer. It was queso, hot salsa and their "famous" guacamole. We also got complementary chips and salsa. Chips were fine. The salsa was pretty much a bowl of chopped raw onions with a little bit of tomatoes. It was a ridiculous amoun of onions. Besides the onion, it was bland. The queso was very good. The spicy salsa was hot but didn't have much flavor. Just pureed hot. The "famous guacamole" was almost without flavor. It needed cilantro and lime maybe some salt. I'm no chef and I make way better at home. We both ordered chicken enchiladas for the main entree. The chicken was cubed chicken breast. Good enchiladas you would have more like pulled chicked that was slow cooked and seasoned. This had little flavor, little chicken and was covered in a ton of cheese. Cheese is normally a good thing but not when it's gooey and flavorless. The rice and beans were also bland. The rice was a strange green color and the beans were served in a cup and were old and dry. We were both surprised at the 4 star rating of this restaurant. I figured since it also has a bar, maybe most people who review it were drunk. Two good things about dinner, the wait staff and the queso dip. I would not recommend this place to anyone. This is not Mexican food. This is more like something from the frozen food section of the...
Read moreWas emptier than I thought it would be considering it’s a busy time of year in OCMD. We waited about 5 minutes. The server was prompt and friendly. For whatever reason, the menu wasnt appealing (and Tex mex is my favorite food). Chips and salsa were served promptly. Note that additional chips and salsa are at a charge. The chips tasted like they had been fried in old oil and were not salted at all. I appreciated that the salsa was made fresh but it was much more like pico de gallo and lacked any flavor. It need more spice, salt, and perhaps more cilantro and perhaps some lime juice. We ordered chicken enchiladas, the tuna soft tacos with mango salsa, and the chicken chimichanga. All came with cilantro rice and refried beans. We all left both on our plates uneaten - the rice was bland and dry. The beans were flavorless and dry. My son loved the chimichanga. My daughter loved the tuna soft tacos. I didn’t particularly like the chicken enchiladas. There were grisly parts of chicken though I appreciated the nice big pieces. The flavor just was off for me. I do feel they are priced high compared to other Tex mex restaurants who are in other areas. I live in a beach town and our Tex mex prices are lower for our local restaurants. Had it been super delicious, I would haven’t even thought about the price…. Also, walking in, I was did not feel like the staff was friendly at all. And no one said good night to us even though they were at the front door. Our server was friendly and attentive. We spent $90 with three people, no alcohol, no...
