Liberatore’s (Tapas-Wine Bar-Libations) — Restaurant in Ocean City

As fans of the Libertore restaurants in Harford and Baltimore counties, we were super excited about a new location only a few blocks from our place in OC. Our first experience was a birthday gathering with our close friends. The food and beverages were outstanding. I personally had the beef carpaccio and arrancini both excellent! Others in our group had the short rib rigatoni, chicken Giovanni, and chicken parmigiana. All wonderful! Our server, however, left a lot to be desired and tainted our experience. He appeared annoyed from the get go. Icy and short in our interactions. No recommendations or suggestions. The food came out in spurts--granted that may be a result of the kitchen but I would expect the server to coordinate it better. At one point my wife ordered a glass of wine and (at least felt like) an unreasonable amount of time had passed and it had not been delivered to the table. In meantime two of our party ordered and received cocktails and still no glass of wine. I was able to gather our server's attention and inquired about the wine, to which pointed to the bar and said "it's right there, I'm going to get it now." When he returned with the wine he leaned and said, "There's no need to flag me down, I have it under control." Quite rudely! As we were wrapping up the check, we asked why he felt the need to say that to us. He said we'd been waving him down all night which was not true. Just the once for the wine that was taking an unreasonable amount of time. Otherwise, I believe we were not challenging customers. This server's icy demeanor and rudeness ruined an otherwise...

We had the best time as first timers at Liberatore’s tonight! We heard the hype but had to go see for ourselves. The hype is so true and then some. You walk through the door of a space in Montego Bay Shopping Center, the same place you’ve been going since you were a kid, but when you step inside you transported to another place. It feels so good. So modern. So right. Everyone at the host stand is so enthusiastic and polite. Such a pleasant experience. We were seated right away (on a Sunday night) and greeted by our server Jenny right on time. Jenny was a wealth of information without being overbearing. She was sweet and kind. We had a spicy pear martini, and a dirty martini. Both were delicious. We had a margarita pizza for an app. It was light crispy and the cheese delectable. We had the clams in brodo, pork chop and chicken Giovani for our mains. The sauces in all three were like nothing we had never had before. We enjoyed our evening out so much. Timonium comes to OC. I’ve frequented the Timonium and Parkville MD locations for many years. I’m at the beach full time now and I was missing the places I frequented in Bmore. Liberator’s had always been at the top of my list of favorites. Tonight’s visit was a fabulous homecoming. John and Dante have hit another home run at their newest location.
