The Legendary Fractured Prune — Restaurant in Ocean City

The doughnuts are good, but they charge $3 to use a credit card on a $12 half-dozen order and $18 dozen order, which end up being %25 and about %16.7 percent, respectively. Most places that charge a credit card fee use 3-4%, so charging an incredibly high flat $3 on something that can easily be calculated to an exact partial dollar amount feels incredibly dishonest. Again, the doughnuts are good, but I don't return to businesses that engage in such practices.

Edit in response from owner: I visited the 127th St location a month ago (Aug '24), and couldn't remember if the half-dozen/dozen prices were $12/$18 or $13/$19. Either way, I 100% remember the sign saying $3 fee for credit card. I paid cash that day. So either the 127th St location is scamming customers, or whoever wrote the sign doesn't know the difference...

The food was alright, however as soon as I said I wanted a breakfast sandwich the cashier rolled his eyes. He didn't say anything however you could tell he was annoyed. Also another guy jumped in to finish taking orders and when my brother ordered a bagel with cream cheese the guy just walked away and started making it- when he came back my brother was finally able to finish ordering he asked for a bagel sandwich and the cashier laughed and stated "you should've told me that earlier!!" This is the TRUE Fractured Prune stop! We absolutely love this place!! It’s been part of a family tradition to stop here with my grandfather when I visit for the past 10 years!! We plan to continue the tradition of stopping at THIS Fractured Prune for many years to come! They have AMAZING donuts! If they had a shop in New York we would have their donuts at our wedding!

Side Note: (We went to a DIFFERENT Fractured Prune once at 36383 Lighthouse Rd. thinking it would be the same quality donuts, but we were TERRIBLY mistaken. Would not recommend THAT Fractured Prune. We will ONLY go to the BEST Fractured Prune which...
