Crab Bag — Restaurant in Ocean City

NEWEST REVIEW ....Delayed review on my latest visit. This place is a roller coaster. . Meals for table brought out very separate and one person was mostly done before other person finally received their food. When their food arrived 15 minutes after mine it was cooked totally wrong .Restaurant was SO cold and I had too keep my coat on in the restaurant , as did quite a few others all around the restaurant. All in all the whole experience was an expensive miserable event . -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update from last review. ...I will say that Today was banging for the service.... you get back a star! Update AGAIN... I'm going to give you back a star because the food has been a tad better lately. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I'm split on my review. I'm a local and been here about 5 times the last few months. It's really hit or miss. Was there last weekend with a party of 6 and food and service was quite good. Went two weeks a go with a party of 4 and the all you could eat crabs were so tiny that I seriously questioned whether I should check the measurements. Funny thing was.... two others in my party bought the xtra larges by the dozen thinking they didn't want to bother picking smaller crabs.... and their crabs were maybe and I mean maybe like 1/4 inch bigger from tip to tip. I also noticed the all you could eat were seriously COLD. Also go there for carry out quite a bit and noticed it's either great or awful. I'm kinda tired of spending my money HOPING I hit the place on a good day. Truly when they are good they are GREAT but it's getting expensive when it's only a 50/50 shot . THAT SAID... service is always always amazing and the drinks...

We went last night for my sister's birthday. We would told there would be a 45 minute wait, whoch was fine for a Saturday night. There must have been a staffing issue because there were a significant amount of tables left open. When we received notice that our table was ready, we were told that someone had sat themselves at the table that was meant for us. No problem. The you man was very apologetic and had great customer service. As we were waiting, the woman who I later found out was the manager, walked by and screamed at us to not smoke - no one was smoking. After waiting another 30 minutes and seeing other parties being seated, a member of my party went to get an update. The young host gentleman was against very courteous and tried to address the situation right away, but apparently this issue was happening to several people. The manager started screaming at the host in front of all of the customers. It was completely unprofessional the way she behave and the way she treated her staff. When my sister's fiancé tried to explain the situation to her, she stuck her hand in his face and told him she wasn't talking to him. Eventually, we were able to get a table - we only stayed because at this point we had been waiting over and hour and a half. We asked the hostess for the name of the manager - her response was that she was new and had not bothered to learn everyone's name. Wild! Our server was not attentive. We had to ask for drinks and for mayo three times. The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. There was no toilet paper, soap or paper towels and they smelled disgusting. As we left l, the young male host was standing at the front and looked absolutely defeated from the night. I made sure to tell him that he did a great job trying to handle the situation as best he could and that he had great customer service skill and that he did not deserve to be treated the way his manager treated and embarrassed him in front of a whole crowd of guest. I worked in the service industry for over 15 years and was absolutely floored by...

I’d average this place at 3.5 stars. It’s huge and disorganized. The layout, staff and organization get a 3, which is kind.

When you walk up you realize there are 2 separate buildings made into one restaurant. It’s kind of confusing trying to figure out where to enter and you walk by garbage cans and kitchen stuff that looks messy. When we found the hostess she put us on the waitlist. She didn’t mention we could eat at the bar if there was seating and didn’t even suggest we go and hang out while we waited. We asked if there was a bar and she gave us some vague directions that were confusing and said there was a bar in either building. Kind of strange that bars weren’t on the ground floors for people to have a drink while they are waiting for their table. It took several wrong turns before we found the bar. No signs up with directions or help from employees. Once we found it we were told we could eat there so we decided to do that and not have to wait. The bartender was pretty busy but he seemed like he didn’t care much about helping anyone. It took several requests to get waters with our drinks and when the food came neither he nor the food runner brought us plates, napkins, silverware or asked if we needed anything else. We had to ask for each item individually so it was annoying to keep waiting while our food was getting cold.

The food was not bad, we gave it a 4. However, we only had the steamed spiced shrimp and old bay seasoned fries. We chose this place because they had seared scallops and steamed shrimp. We were sad to find out that they were out of scallops so we opted for the shrimp only. The shrimp was tasty and fresh but slightly over cooked and came out a bit cold. It had definitely sat there for awhile before it was brought up. I ordered a creamsicle crush. The bartender did make it very well. Tasted just like a creamsicle.
