Dayton's Chicken — Restaurant in Ocean City

You would think that a place that has existed on the beach for years and years, where the ocean and thus the crabs are, would have a good handle on making a decent crabcake. Not Dayton's!

The extra long service time made me think it was going to be good when it came out. Not so! I am a bona fide crab 🦀 cake connoisseur, so when I opened the box and saw this hockey puck, for which I paid $18 and change, almost $19. This was easily The Worst crabcake I've ever had. Especially since the lettuce and tomato I requested NOT to be on my sandwich were on my sandwich. Shows they don't listen to the customer and waste the bosses' money. Honestly, DO NOT waste your money on this item.

That being said, I did order the cheesy fries, and they were pretty good. My husband knows I like malted vinegar and coated them with about as much as it took to make up for the awful crab... Anyway, it was pretty good and came with a TON of yummy cheese.

Hubs ordered a burger and fries, which, he said, both looked good and tasted good to him. He had my lettuce and tomato on it, making it better.

Al that said, we spent about $45, which wouldn't have been too bad for the locale, except for the shoddy crab puck I received.

Ordered hot dogs for the kids. Expected them to come out on a normal hot dog buns but they came out on hoagie rolls which is fine. But then we went to ask for the allergens in the hoagie rolls because my kids have egg allergies and not only did they have no idea that several people in the back were laughing about the fact that we were asking. So take your business elsewhere. Being incompetent is one thing, being nasty about kids...
