Table we were seated at was literally about to fall apart. If any weight was put on it it would shift horribly. We were waiting for it spill over on us
Place advertised about its coffee. Upon being seated I asked for a house hot latte which is on the menu. Waiter said hold on let me check and see if the coffee bar is open. I watched where the young man went to and it was a bar area were a very loud gentleman was serving drinks. He spoke to the “bartender” and the bartender yelled very loudly “hot latte” in a questionable manner. ( this confused me due to this restaurant shows its that it’s a coffee house as well. ). Upon my waiter returning he said they would make my coffee like it was a favor to me. At this point I declined and just asked for a water instead. He insisted I take the coffee which I again more forcefully declined and asked for a water.
Further watching the “bartender”. He had no problem slinging champagne for any woman who walked through the door and also had no issue serving full glasses of baileys Irish crème to an older grandmother like woman in the corner.
Food came out ok.. but our order wasn’t correct and the waiter hardly spoke enough English to argue about. We are and will never and I mean never return to this place of business. How they are in business is surprising to me. This all took place approx 930am on Tuesday...
Read moreWent to this place for breakfast and my son was crying and cranky, I took him out for a little bit. He seemed to feel better so I walked back inside sat down & he started fussing again. Mind you he is only a year and a half old. I did all I could do to keep him occupied while we waited on our food but he wasn’t having it. The owner had the audacity to come up to me and tell me I needed to take him out because she had customers leaving due to my son crying... the unprofessionalism of this woman and her rolling her eyes made me and my fiancé highly upset. So before our food came out we got up and left because we obviously weren’t welcome there. We went outside as we waited for the rest of our friends and family that were leaving along with us. She came outside and tried to tell us we were rude for having our son in there crying. I told her I didn’t want to hear her because I was already irritated with her and ready to leave. She continues to tell us; her words exactly “I’m losing customers, it’s disrespectful.” Look if someone can’t handle a CHILD fussing for a bit before he gets his food, I’m sorry but deal with it, he is a child! Instead of telling us to leave, maybe you should have had our food out a little sooner and all of this would have been avoided because once he sees food he stops crying. I highly don’t recommend this place for its...
Read moreThis is so sad, this use to be our favorite breakfast place in Ocean City. New owner's have remodeled and changed the menu. All the great unique food choice like the Sage sausage gravy and Chesapeake Sarah are gone.
What few items that remain on the menu are now quick turnaround, high profit, basic fare. Of those we had the pancakes, and French toast were good. The sausages were basic frozen store bought. The omelet was subpar. Cheese for the omelet was an extra dollar which is a strange business decision. The omelet had the ingredients cooked into the omelet instead of folded into it. That means all the ingredients that touch the bottom of the pan were burned. The omelet that was served should not be on a menu that has a price associated with it.
The service was still excellent despite the disappointment of the loss of the sentimental food selection. It appears as though the new owners have chosen to focus on serving lunch, dinner and now alcohol for the hotel and pool swimmers. Giving up on the existing word of mouth reputation and fondness that the previous owner established with a more unique food selection. It's more of a impersonal corporate shell that blends well with the bland experience of the hotel it's attached to.
Oh well, nothing good lasts forever. Here's to looking forward to finding the next best...
