If I could Leave 0 stars, I would. Abysmal service and food on all accounts. We showed up as a party of 7, however only 6 were ordering. 7th person left within 10 minute of arriving as we sat there for 10 minutes before a server arrived to take our orders. No wait for a table of 7, so that should tells us they’re not overly busy. So I order a Michelob ultra, I get it it’s a tap house, but I like what I like. She hands me a can, no cold glass or offer. Which seemed weird given the fact that they pride themselves as a beer place. But ok, I get it, maybe she’s had a rough day. We ask about market prices so we can see what oysters and crab cakes prices are. She tells us 18 for the sliders. We order a ton of food. Crab cakes, crab cake sliders, gumbo, oysters, 3 apps. My first issue is that it was one person on their own separate tab, the sever never informed us she cannot split checks, which seems like something you’d mention, but once we get the check I get it. She auto grat’d the check. Fine I get it, large party and not everyone tips appropriately. But the fact that we seen her about 4-5 times over the course of almost 90-120 minutes at the restuarnat. The food came out like warm at best. My burger was hot, but the crab cakes was a little hotter than room temp, all of the fries except one were room temp. The gumbo had hard rice. A $33 dish should not have old rice or undercooked rice. Server forgot to order the Mac and cheese as a sub for chips. The crab cakes were bland with very little seasoning or flavor. We live here year around, not tourists. So I’d like to think I know what crab cake should taste like. So I’m a little irritated because Wicklow w have almost a $300 tab with very little services or quality food to justify the price. We get the check, and. I ask the server about the crab cakes being priced at 21 and not 18. She says oh I must’ve misquoted. Not an offer to concede pricing or even a discussion. Then I notice she charged me .50 because I asked to have the tomato on my burger on the side. Huh? I don’t eat them and they charged me money to put it on the side. This was arguably one of the worst experiences I’ve had. I don’t expect to get my butt kissed. It’s a tourist town, church and burnt I get it. But this was not worth it. Which is sad because the burger was great. The oysters were good as well. But too many mistakes, mediocre at best service and subpar food quality does not allow me to leave a...
Read moreWe are visiting from out of town for the holiday weekend. We choose this restaurant for the views during dinner. We were hoping the food would be good but what a great disappointment! We ordered the Shrimp Cocktail, Seafood Potato skins, Mexican corn salad, the blast sandwich and the coconut shrimp and red curry. Where do I even begin…. The shrimp cocktail was ok as were the potato skins. Nothing to write home to mom about so we were hoping dinner would be better. Our food took what seemed like forever to come out and as we waited it looked like a storm was rolling in. I asked our server what happens if it starts to rain. She smirked and said “I’m not sure.. we’re really busy inside, I would assume they will squeeze you inside, but it’s not going to rain haha.” A storm was definitely brewing, because 10 minutes later… the host came over to take our umbrella because a storm was coming. At this point we had been waiting at least 20-25 minutes for our food and we weren’t sure when it would be coming…. I asked again what would happen if it rained since they were clearly preparing for rain. The manager said as she was taking away our only shelter, “we are slammed inside so there really isn’t anything we can do… you can take your food to go… that’s the best I got” as the rain starts to fall. So we take it upon ourselves to move under this outdoor porch area which has plenty of seating. Why didn’t they offer to move us there? Why was there no rain plan? You’re an outdoor restaurant by the water….. I’m so confused. Finally 10 minutes later or food comes and we were so disappointed. My mom ordered the Mexican corn salad and got the corn fries…. They were soggy and had like three corn kernels. My husband got The Blast, why was that 21.00, no sides?!?! I’m still confused. It looked like something I could make at home for 3.00. Then I got the curry, 30.00 for a bowl of Uncle Ben’s rice and frozen shrimp. My one shrimp had NO coconut. Why weren’t they jumbo prawns for 30.00? Thank god my son was dead asleep, we ate his chicken tenders. Over in total disappointment. My husband didn’t want to come to OCMD he’s a wildwood fan. Took me 7 years to convince him. He’s been extra critical and this stop didn’t help my case. 🙄 I’m sad we didn’t take pictures but we were just...
