Simple food done extremely well. There is a free small parking lot. Picnic tables set up in a sand pit with brown paper covers and trash buckets, paper towels, etc to share. Most tables are under a gazebo roof with fans running. You order at one window and then go pick a place to sit if you are dining in. They text you when it's time to pick up your order at a 2nd window. We got there around 4pm on a Friday and waited maybe 15 minutes to order and then another 15 or 20 minutes for the food. When we finished eating, the line to order was literally down the block and food seemed to be taking a little longer to get out. No idea if that is typical or not, but dining early might be best if you're opposed to waiting. The food is absolutely worth the wait though. We got crabs, clam strips, and fried shrimp. Plus corn on the cob, fries, and pasta salad. The standout winners were the crabs, the fried shrimp (breading was crazy good), and the pasta salad. But everything was tasty and filling. One of the best features if you have kids is the sand table. They have a mini play area with all sorts of sand toys and our kids had great fun playing while we finished picking crabs. This is a super example of a simple restaurant concept executed very well. The whole thing just works and is the best crab place we have tried so far in OC,MD. Will definitely...
Read moreThe crabs were good no doubt, but I came here to leave a review because my family and I felt ripped off. We had gone here two days in a row, on the first day we had gotten to the restaurant relatively close to closing and there were few options available so we settled for the medium sized crab that night. The next day we had gone relatively early in hopes of getting larger crabs, so we had gotten there around 1:15 knowing that opening was at 12. Now, we weren’t expecting the jumbo crabs to be in stock knowing that those are always in highest demand, but we were expecting crabs that were at least larger than a medium. When we had ordered we were told that everything was sold out except a medium, so we had settled again especially since we had traveled far. After we had gotten seated and started eating there was a couple next to us that came about a half hour after us. We had noticed that their crabs were noticeably bigger so we asked what size they had gotten and they told us that they had gotten jumbo. Now I’m not here writing this review to try to slow business, but I feel disappointed in the dishonesty. We were told the day before that service was based on a first come first serve basis and had complied but it was clear discrimination had some sort of play in this situation. Bad...
Read moreAfter scouring reviews of seafood restaurants in OC, we decided to try this one first based on reviews. This place did not disappoint. My family doesn’t eat a lot of seafood outside of a few types of fish so we wanted to experience something new. We didn’t know what to order when we arrived and the lady that took our order suggested we get the cleaned out crabs that had some sort of mix on top of the crab. We ordered a few of those, hush puppies, a crab cake sandwich, crab soup, potato salad, and chicken meals for the little kids. We loved it! We were still able to use the cute hammers they provided to bash at the crab legs to get extra meat out. They provide you the whole experience as you sit outside in a sand covered area with picnic tables covered in brown butcher like paper, with pales for garbage and whole rolls of paper towels. When you are done, you walk up to the wash station to clean your hands. The restaurant stayed busy the whole time we were there and everyone looked like they were enjoying themselves! We paid a little over $80 for all our food for our...
