Past 10pm, long day, missed dinner, tons of places are closed, and just wanted something basic to eat. Was thinking pizza, but they don't sell slices, just whole pies. The chef offered Cheesesteak as a good takeout option for one person, so I decided to gamble. Outside of the Philly area, Cheesesteaks can be really hit or miss, with everybody having different ideas of what qualifies as a "Cheesesteak". I told him I just wanted Cheese and Steak, nothing else. He asked if I wanted white or yellow American. I chose white.
I saw him get to work, and a few minutes later had my full, over foot length, hoagie, wrapped and packed in a long paper bag, like you picked up a fresh loaf of Italian bread from a bakery. Went home, sat down, added some ketchup, and wow. This was one of the best Cheesteaks I've had in a while. Meat flavorful, cheese evenly spread throughout, roll the perfect level of fluffy and crispy. Just what I needed to end my day with.
If you're a Philly expat looking for a taste of home, give these guys a shot. As authentic as you could hope for this far from Philly. Not cheap, but heck, even some places back in Philly charge more than this, so it gets a pass for me. Especially with...
Read moreAfter years of visiting OCMD...How did I not know about this place?! AWESOME FOOD! Best Cheesesteak in town! The owner is super friendly and down to earth. The type of business owner you want in this town. The location is ideal. On a main road close to the downtown OC area with a parking lot for convient off street parking. The shop, while a little older but seasoned with love and years of hard work, is clean and currently covid friendly. They have a few tables for dine-in. Masks were worn by everyone in the shop to ensure the safety of customers and staff. Now the best part...THE FOOD. The cheesesteak was HUGE! Full of meat and flavor! Fresh and Tasty! A sub was enough for two for sure. I also got an order of French Fries and Onion Rings, beyond enough to share! The onion rings were the big batter onion rings, not those little minced up cheap tasting ones. While the price is a little high it is well worth it for good food! Not to mention, all food in OC is going to be expensive, why not make sure its going to be good and worth it. I highly recommend this sub shop! You will not be...
Read moreI'm not sure of the people that say best gyro they ever had. All I know they've probably been smokin some good weed and can't tell the difference between good and bad. The people that say it's the best they ever had are related to OSAMA BEEN LYING because I just had a Cheese Steak and mushrooms it was supposed to have lettuce tomato and onion and I asked for no tomato and it came with nothing at all. Now for the Gyro it was probably maybe the worst I've ever had. Either you can't tell the best you've ever had or you don't know any better. After 25.00 dollars for a Cheese Steak and a Gyro somehow I'm not convinced. P. S. We were the only customers in the place at the time. I'm not saying it was the worst but it was far from being the best. Sometimes I wonder who posts these reviews. Probably people with da munchies and not really interested in what's really good.If you have the munchies you'll say the best ever.If you're looking for the best you'll be disappointed 😔 but don't listen to me 👂 make up your own mind. Or you just don't know what's really good and probably haven't...
