Location was nice, service was good, but the food was entirely lacking. Came for an after graduation meal on an early Saturday afternoon. It wasn't busy and we were seated promptly. We wanted to sit outside, but as only a small portion of their patio is covered, everything was wet from the morning shower. The waiter was polite and attentive. The items we ordered just didn't measure up. Ordered the oyster sampler, which wasn't bad, especially given the price. The oysters we large and plump and well cooked. The cheddar/jalapeno/bacon were my least favorite, but the others were good representations of standard baked oyster recipes. Something about that cheese or combo of ingredients didn't hit right though. The crab cake sandwich is where things really fell off. I with someone else at the table ordered the same thing, only theirs was deconstructed and I had mine as is. We both agreed that A: the smoked Gouda had no business being there. I was too thick and too overpowering. I took over everything and we both made attempts to remove it. B: the crab cake itself was horrid. It was a fried mushy, gummy puck of indiscernible blah. There was no flavor along with the lack of anything resembling crab. This was a common theme with my meal as somehow my Caesar salad was so bland I found myself dumping salt on it to make up. Caesar salads are usually salty so not sure how they achieved that. The west indies salad was much better and actually a fairly large portion, as was the kids meal shrimp. None of us walked away particularly impressed, and none of us finished our meal or bothered to take it home. Maybe we caught them on a bad day, or picked the wrong items, but I probably won't come back for anything more than some drinks and the views.

So to start, we had gotten fried green tomatoes, firecracker shrimp, and ahi tuna . Those we very tasty. I also got a bowl of gumbo, cold. I was going to send it back, but the waiter kept getting lost and reappearing with other food. Main courses came out, and let's start with the pork chop. My friend states it was seasoned perfectly and tasted scrumptious. The oysters were Ok, nothing to write home about. Lastly, I order the seafood platter and compared to other places I have had seafood platters from, this one was pitiful. The flavor was bland, the platter was skimpy, and price was high for what I received. Overall it was on but I wouldn't eat there again. Sad part is that I used to frequent the one over in gulfport before it closed. I forgot, we did get dessert and I have to tell you that banana foster cheesecake was amazing. Maybe I would go back for that.

Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of easy parking in their parking lot. Great service. I love the Thursday steak & mashed potato special. Each of ours was cooked perfectly. You can substitute the side for another for a small upcharge. The side salad and broccoli are also yummy. Happy hour drinks are great. Beautiful patio seating with a lovely view. Can accommodate large and small groups. The Panko shrimp appetizer was the perfect amount of crunch and flavor while still tasting the shrimp. Highly recommend. We will be returning. My mom is vegan and they were able to create a meal for her from the sides which was great. Pets are welcome which is a huge bonus. Came back the next day. Just as good. Bartender is amazing. Happy hour half off appetizers! Ahi tuna, fried green tomatoes, debris fries, and hummus were all good. Best bloody Mary in town.

We came to visit because we met Chet at Fields Steak & Oyster back in January he invited us to try Bacchus next time we were in town. Field’s was outstanding dinner, drinks and service!! Upon arriving at Bacchus, the atmosphere was bright, happy and the young folks at the host stand were inviting and happy. The entire staff was energetic and well groomed (with the exception of a messy, lazy food runner) Our server Logan was refreshing and personable. He made suggestions and displayed true professionalism. The food was just “ok”. We had the gumbo, it lacked “umph” and doesn’t stand up to McElroys hearty flavorful gumbo. My Mahi tacos were chewy and cold, my side of spinach was cold. Our server took it back and microwaved it, it was much better after it was hot, but ate more like a spinach dip (thick and kind of moist) than creamed spinach. The margarita Logan suggested was great, as well as the sunset paloma. The manager although very nice seemed like he needed busy work. He stood on the wall like Lurch rather than being part of the moving wheel. Such as expedite and ensure hot food out of the kitchen or even pick up the fries on the floor that the food runner spilled off his tray, looked at the fries that he dropped , then walked away. If we stop back, it’ll be for drinks and to catch up with Logan. Nicki Cornejo - Atlanta -28 years in the food and...

This was our first visit to the beautiful setting. The staff was friendly and the general manager brought out our food and introduced himself. We were on the patio overlooking the water with clouds moving in. He immediately offered to move us inside. We remained outside and enjoyed the storm moving across the sky in front of us. Even though they had some pocker run event going on and it was extremely crouded inside and outside, the staff showed no sign of stress and were very pleasant. Our waitress, Jenny, was a lot of fun and attentive to our needs. The food was hot and wonderfully prepared. The only disappointment was that although the fried oysters were of significant size and cooked perfectly, they had little to no flavor in our opinion. They could not regulate that, especially at this time of year. So note to self, don't order oysters in July, lol. The fried shrimp and fries were so so good with a light crispy coating, not breading. The iced tea was really good! We managed to finish our meal and get back to the car before the sky poured out its wrath, lol. I would recommend this resteraunt anytime and will return anytime I am back on the coast. Can't wait to try their other location in Pass...
