Alberto's Mexican Food — Restaurant in Oceanside

After 2 weeks of wanting shredded chicken tacos, and the taco shop right next to my work not having shredded chicken as a menu item, I was pleased to find that Alberto's service and food were friendly and delicious, respectively. I ordered 3 shredded chicken tacos to go. When I got home after running an errand, I found the tacos I bough to still be warm and loaded with chicken, lettuce, and a good amount of cotija on top. It really was a tremendous sight; so tremendous that I dug in immediately and didn't stop until they were devoured. The sign in front says under new management. 5 stars for this newly-managed taco shop. The cook and the cashier were both pleasant. I will go back! And, at $2.50 each, these prices are great compared to Mira Mesa where I grew up where a single taco runs almost $4.

I was a little disappointed the quality the food this time. I've been going to the chain for over 30 years. The beans were not hot not even hot enough to melt the grated cheese that was inside the burrito. and the salsa didn't quite taste like it used to. I know other abortos in the area have a little bit higher ratings just wonder if I made a mistake going at 2:30 p.m. and missing the lunch rush. it's still Alberto's the taquitos were quite well however the guacamole seemed a little bit watery if you could believe that. The service was great the girl behind the register was very sweet and kind and accommodating. I ordered a burrito and a large tamarindo drink and I was completely shocked and disgusted. My family was eating at the Thai Table next door but I wanted Mexican food. Once receiving my food I went next door to eat with them, my mom asked if I could share my drink so I popped the lid off and I discovered over 10 dead fruit flies floating in my drink I was completely disgusted and immediately returned to show the cashier. She had the nerve to ask me if I had put them in there and almost refused to give me a refund. I would highly not recommend this place and if you do eat here please check your drink for this.
