What can I say guys, I was looking to make a pre order “Uber Eats” to a family friend in another country and my location was automatically set in Oceanside, California that “Latin Chef Peruvian Cuisine” popped-up! Drove down from Bonsall area to confirm if true, yes, so true! I didn’t just checked it out, I went in and sat down to eat. I was greeted by the Owner/Chef himself, and in such “awe” moment 🥺 brought me back home… reminding me of my grandfather (with his Asian eyes) and mother’s home-cook meals. “Dine in or Take out?” Snapped back into my senses and said “Dine in, please 🙏🏻 As I sat down and given the menu, the Chef asked if I was Peruvian (he was not sure) I said, Yes, from Tarma, Junín 🇵🇪 Before I began my order he said, “I will bring you Chicha morada, on the house!” One sip and I almost cried — this was so good, and brought me to my childhood when my family boiled the purple corn with cinnamon stick, orange peals, pineapple 🤔 Anyway, back to reality… it was delightful and tasty! I cannot tell you the rest, but you have to stop by and try these dishes. Nothing compares this restaurant to the other restaurant in the neighborhood with Peruvian/Colombian fusion - stick to one and no fusion, please. LATIN CHEF PERUVIAN CUISINE is authentic, no fusion, no gimmicks. Lomo Saltado is to die for, the sauce and the tenderness of the meat. The Leche de Tigre is a quick pretaste of what the ceviche is but mainly its juice with small chunks of fish and a few pieces of Shrimp. Well worth the price than paying for a ticket to Peru to eat ceviche, this is it and it here in Oceanside! Oh! I forgot my Yuca Frita with its famous “Huancaina” sauce. There are other spicy and green sauces to dip your “yuquita” — fried casaba sticks. This place has delivered in flavor, welcoming atmosphere, and authenticity! Thank you for opening this restaurant and wish you great success, I will be coming back and with my family! 🙏🏻...
Read moreOceanside has a top-tier Peruvian restaurant again! It's been two long years without fresh ceviche de pescado and now with La Indita's founder opening a restaurant in San Diego County all that culinary experience and dedication is accessible without a trip up or down the coast. The entree prices aren't bargain-rate but there are only a few places in the area to sample this unique fusion of the cuisines of Japan, Spain and the Andes. The Spanish videos accompanying the background music really are off a Peruvian feed, often with karaoke subtitles, and there are much less entertaining, nourishing and delicious ways to...
Read moreEvery time my family and I want to taste an authentic Peruvian meal, we think of Latin Chef without hesitation. We start with some juicy anticuchos, a refreshing leche de tigre, or a well-prepared ceviche. Then our favorites, seafood chaufa rice, lomo saltado, chicha morada, Cusqueña beer, lucuma ice cream...we have tried almost the entire menu, and every time we visit Latin Chef, the food, its flavor, and the local people take us back to a little piece of our beloved Peru....
