Good and bad here. The good is the pizza tastes fine, lots of flavor. However, I just moved here from NYC. This certainly isn’t real NY pizza. For example, NYC pizza does not use corn meal on the bottom of the crush. this place does. Also, the slices are cut too skinny to be folded, the way we eat them in NYC. The BBQ chicken pizza was pretty decent and superior to any BBQ chicken in NYC (they don’t know how to do good BBQ chicken pizza in NYC).
The bad: the crust was super chewy, like my jaw had to work really hard. Way too chewy. The wings tastes like frozen wings that were just reheated, not crispy at all, just mushy. The value for the pizza and wings wasn’t super high, pretty expensive for what I got and how many toppings they put on the pizza.
To be fair, my pizza and wings were not hot when they arrived. I had the food delivered. Apparently it’s done via a 3rd party, but I don’t know that when I ordered from them. It took over an hour to arrive, and I live about 1.5 miles away. So the food wasn’t hot when it came. Maybe it would have been much better when fresh?
Overall, it’s not real NYC pizza, but it isn’t bad. In fact, besides the crust, it was good as long as I don’t think of it as NYC pizza. They just need to figure out why the crust is so chewy and work on a real delivery system (or just not...
Read moreI saw that this pizza place had moved into the old Pizza Hut location and was semi excited by the name, etc. Upon ordering and receiving the pizza, I have to say that this is really no better than Marco's (please note - I'm not suggesting Marco's is "good" pizza). In fact, I think I prefer the latter, especially when you consider that Marco's is about half the price, and at $22+ a pizza there are far better options around. Unfortunately, there's nothing special offered here...just another average basic pizza which lacks any real pizzaz, exactly what we didn't need in this plaza since that niche was already filled by Upper Crust. The pizza may be a bit large at 16"+ but don't be fooled for it's certainly not NY styled. Pizza & More still seems to have the best product in this price point, and Roma's also has a way better product at a discounted price, provided you take advantage of their take out specials. The other reviewers giving this place 5 stars are either getting paid by this establishment or seriously need to...
Read moreAs a former New Yorker with the attitude and accent to prove it. I have to say that I have tried way too many so-called "NY Pizza style" shops. While some places are somewhat close, no one can really compete unless they are in NY (psst, the secret is the water). I have to say I feel this shop was the closest to NY Pizza, as you can get around here. The slices were just as long but not as wide (this is acceptable due to inflation). I wish I lived closer, as I would be eating here a lot!! I WILL make the extra drive to come back just...
