Old Salt Sandwiches and Such — Restaurant in Ocracoke

Whatever you do, do NOT ask them for any recommendations or opinions. The lady taking orders is as unhelpful as she can be. We have been to Ocracoke many times but usually frequent Fig Tree Deli. It was closed today, so we went to this truck to order lunch for our family of six. Big mistake. A simple question of whether she would choose the lettuce + tomato on the fish sandwich or the slaw led to her “informing” (you know, because I didn’t demonstrate that I already read the sign by asking her which she would choose) me that I am supposed to choose my own toppings & let her know. Great drum sandwich, pretty good crabcake sandwich and excellent french fries. Worth the experience if you are here and let's face it...you're here anyway because of the variety store.
