I am so torn on this place. The first time we went a few months ago, it was amazing. My husband and I thought we found a gem. Service was great, food was hot, etc. The next time we went, things were a little rough. The service was good, but the food wasn’t as good as the time before. The portion sizes were so different (and I know, inflation.. but still, it was a big difference), and it didn’t feel as fresh. Today we went for our anniversary, and I honestly feel it was such a waste. The place wasn’t even busy, but we were there nearly 2 hours, most of it without food. Our sever was kind, but the service was so bad. She took our drink order right as we came in, but we waited 20 minutes just for our drinks. We almost left, and I wish we had. After she dropped them off we were ready to order, but she didn’t even ask if we were ready and went to the corner and was on her phone for another 10 minutes. We tried flagging her down several times but she either ignored us or didn’t notice. When she finally came to get our food orders I was feeling frustrated. We ordered an appetizer with our meals. It was another 30 minutes before she brought the O’town nachos which were cold and the cheese was hard, and you could tell it had been sitting for a while. She then brought out both of our meals right after, which were really disappointing. I had the bangers and mash, and the sausages had barely any color, and again the potatoes were cold. My husband got the blue cheese burger which had barely any toppings and he only had a handful of fries. Way less than we have had the previous times. She then disappeared to talk with people at the bar, and we didn’t see her almost the rest of our meal. When we were ready to pay, she was no where to be seen. We waited almost another 20 minutes just to find her to get the check. We still tipped, but we were both upset by the service. Honestly, I’m so disappointed. This place was SO good the first time, and it’s just go downhill from there… especially the service tonight. I don’t know if we...
Read moreI have heard nothing but rave reviews and decided to come here after seeing your extensive plant based menu. However, I was quite disappointed with my experience here this evening. First of all, the atmosphere was not what I was expecting. It was much more of a crowded and noisy bar than a cozy pub. We were not greeted at the door and were instead told to hand over our IDs. After walking in, we were not directed where to sit but instead found our own table in the middle of the room. We sat and waited nearly ten minutes prior to being greeted. Once greeted, the server took our order and brought us back our beverages. I ordered a lemonade which was flavorless and warm. We ordered the Bavarian pretzel which came out absolutely frozen still, literally. It was so hard and cold that we could not pull it apart to eat it.
We sat and waited another 10 minutes before being able to talk to a server about getting our pretzel reheated. We continued waiting and were brought out our entrees before receiving our new pretzel. The burgers were okay, nothing to write home about. My husband's burger looked slightly undercooked and my burger was not what I ordered. I ordered the impossible burger and after biting into it, another server came by to apologize that she forgot they were out of impossible burgers and instead brought me a substitute. I was not upset, but I would have liked to have been told what I was eating prior to being served it.
After we were over halfway done with our meal, the pretzel was finally presented. It was huge and the basil seasoning was fabulous. However, the entire pretzel was so salty that it was nearly inedible. Despite this, the beer cheese sauce and the stone ground mustard which accompanied it were lovely.
Overall, I would say this experience was underwhelming. Everything on the menu looked so delicious that I could not wait to visit. However, after coming here and being confronted with issue after issue, I regret to say I will not be...
