The prices are reasonable for the most part, maybe a little steep for students, but still good food if WSU students need a change from inexpensive subs and campus food. The only things I didn't care for were:
The heater was on at a high setting and the interior temperature was very warm, yet the outside temperature was in the mid 50s and sunny (at the time I went). Even though I had walked over, I wasn't sweaty until after I went inside and started looking at the menu.
I had to wait almost 10 minutes to get service and the place was not busy.
They don't give you any water or even a small cup to get some out of the soda fountain. The young girl working there asked if I wanted something to drink with my order and I said, "water." She never gave me a cup or glass (drinks are self serve at the fountain/machine). I even asked again but no reply because her shift was over and she was more interested in leaving for the day.
I had accidentally forgotten to take my reusable water bottle with me when I walked over from campus because I did not feel like carrying my heavy backpack and laptop with me, yet I was still thirsty from walking. I waited in the interior heat, tempted to drink using my right hand as a cup to get some water out of the soda fountain. I went back up to the window/counter to ask again; no one was there and she had left for the day already.
I can understanding waiting 10-15 minutes for my order to be served, but I had to endure the heat inside because the young lady who took my order also had left immediately after taking, due to her shift being over for the day (which seemed to be more important to her than making sure I had good service); therefore, the cook/owner wouldn't know that I was waiting outside where it felt nice.
When I finally received my order, still no water or cup even, and no "thank you for waiting, may I get you anything else?" No verifying or acknowledging what I ordered to make sure it goes to the patron who ordered it, or any communication whatsoever from him. Only a disgruntled look, not even a smile. Other than that, the food was great.
The only reason I can't go back for a long time is because I'm still on a student budget and have debt. Next time I go, I plan on sweating and enduring heat (or vice versa in the summer, because I figure the owners will make it a freezer when temps get in the 70s even) and if I can't afford soda, to bring my own water or else suffer, and also feel like another number instead...
Read moreSolid Greek food. The pita was very nice (although they give you quite a lot of hummus in comparison to actual bread), as well as the mozzarella sticks. Warm and satisfying. For the actual entrees, I had a shrimp kebab and chicken kebab. Both of them were good, and they were filling. Nothing to write home about really, but I had an enjoyable time there. Service was nice too, I liked our waiter! He was a great guy. My mom’s order was someone else’s though, but luckily enough, the only thing she didn’t order on it was the french fries. She got the original side she wanted in the end, so all was well. It was just due to some new staff confusing tables, so no harm done. Good experience overall.
Mozzarella Sticks: 8/10. My first mozzarella sticks… eaten at a Greek restaurant. Well, they were good! Nice and hot, went great with the marinara sauce. Cheese pull wasn’t disappointing. The mozzarella was super, breaded wonderfully. Very good, I enjoyed them.
Hummus & Pita Bread: 9/10. Who goes to a Greek restaurant and doesn’t order hummus and pita bread? This was spectacular. The bread was nice and warm, very soft, and the hummus tasted delicious. The pita gave me a very homey, warm feeling. For some reason, just eating it brought me comfort. They give you way too much hummus in comparison to the amount of bread they give you, so we had to ask for more. It was super good though.
Chicken & Shrimp Kebabs: 8/10. I received one chicken kebab and one shrimp kebab. They were very good! Both were done well and seasoned nicely, tasted very flavorful. Chicken wasn’t dry, shrimp wasn’t over-cooked or anything. The tzizki sauce paired wonderfully with it. The dish came with some pita bread that I used to eat the extra hummus with as well. Good food.
Baklava: 9/10. I have to wonder why I have never tried such a delicacy like baklava. This was perfect, I loved it. It was much easier to eat with my hands than the fork they give, but I guess some people just don’t like to eat with their hands. Couldn’t be me though, my Indian ancestors shan’t roll in their graves because of me. Super good and sweet, but not too sweet. The honey was sticky and the bread was thick in the perfect way. It’s a great dessert for if you like sweet treats that aren’t too...
Read moreWay overpriced for the quality and quality of the food. I order a combination plate, steak kabob, and shrimp. With an appetizer of Dolmades. To go.
My daughter loves dolmades from Andy's. These were about half the size and the filling was horrible! It also had some sort of gel in the bottom of the container! No, it wasn't olive oil. It was a consistency of jelly and sour.
My combination was ok if it were about a 3rd of the price and served in the mall. The rice was mush, and the souvlaki was very small. Less than half the size I get from Andy's. The pita bread was tiny. It was about half of 1 slice of a pita piece cut into small sections.
Now for the good. The shrimp were great and freshly cooked. The cucumber yogurt was very good also. They did give more than enough potatoes and rice. The salad and dressing were fresh and flavorful.
This was my first and last time eating here. The quality of the food for the price is disproportionate. If they had less of the sides and more of the main food item ordered and better quality it could justify the price they charge. My daughter ate 2 of the dolmades and said she didn't like them. I took away the dolmades from my daughter after seeing and eating one myself. If we get sick, I'll know what did it.
The place itself was inviting. The decor was comfortable and parking wasn't a problem. Unfortunately, the reason for going (food) was lacking. I won't...
