If I could give this place a âzeroâ star rating, I would. My husband and I were looking for a good Mexican food place since moving up here and this place had the best ratings. Being of Spanish descent myself, I was surprised at the serving of coleslaw and salsa when we arrived. We should have left then, but we didnât. My husband ordered the chile colorado, a dish we know and love; I ordered I believe carne asada. Got the food and my husbandâs dish looked like the food we used to feed our dog (Alpo Dog Food); mine looked so dry and dull. Took our first bite and immediately spit it out. We told our server we would just like the check; weâll pay for the food but we wonât eat it. She immediately got defensive and in a snooty voice said sheâd go get the manager. Manager came out and asked what the problem was, and we told her that this wasnât the food we werenât expecting and it wasnât good. She then asked us if we were from the South. We said yes, then asked if weâre from the Guadalajara region, I said actually I have family there. From the face she made, she wasnât expecting that answer (considering I am and look black). She then goes, âWell, if youâre from there, then you know this is the food they serveâ. I said no they donât but weâll take our check, please and thank you. She offered to bag the food up for us to maybe give to some other family members, and I told her that we wouldnât feed this to our family, check please. I realize that last comment was petty, but her tone of the whole conversation was just rude and dismissive, and to be honest, my statement was true. Stay away...
Read moreHorrible food, terrible service, but decent Mexican restaurant ambiance. We wanted to like this place but...My husband ordered the enchiladas poblanos and he felt his stomach seize up before we even got home. I didnât even wind up eating anything but chips and salsa, despite my attempt to order real food.
Hereâs how it went down: The waitress obviously didnât know the menu well or care about our food or our experience at all. To start, she didnât bring a drink menu so I asked if I could have a marg that wasnât super sweetâshe said they didnât have anything like thatâbut when she brought the drink menu, it turned out they had a marg without extra sugar for $15 (as opposed to a cheaper âgummy bear marg.â So I went for the $15 marg with patron. It was okay, but damn near the weakest marg Iâve ever ordered for any amount, let alone fifteen bucks. For dinner, I ordered the Chile Relleno dinner, but the waitress wound up giving me the a la carte Chile relleno. I didnât eat it anyway because the breading on it was absolutely gross, so honestly I was glad I just had one. I thought I might order some guacamole for dinner (safe choice) since my husbandâs food was almost as bad as my relleno, but they only had a guacamole âdip.â Didnât want to chance it. Thought, âokay Iâll just have beer for dinner,â but they were out of the good beers on the menu. My husbandâs beer tasted like orange cleaning product. It was BAD yâall. The whole experience was laughable, and we will certainly...
Read moreGod, this place was absolutely terrible. There's more American food than Mexican on the menu, which should have been my first clue. But, the place looked cool, had a pool table, and I was figured I'd try it. The salsa tasted terrible. It tasted like a jarred salsa and they brought out cole slaw with it, which I did enjoy. But as I was eating, I noticed something under my finger on the back of my fork and turned it around to see that it was absolutely filthy. Then, my chinichanga came out covered in massive mounds of salsa, sour cream and guacamole, which was ok but I would have rather had it on the side since there was just so much of it. But, the worst part was that it was just a flour tortilla. It wasn't fried, like a chimichanga should be. The menu said it was an option to be that way but that I didn't ask for it that way and have never seen one come like that. It was terrible. I tried to just take the chicken out of it and eat it but it was flavorless and hardly had any in there. I ate one bite of it and told the waitress it was terrible. She asked if I wanted anything else but I was already so turned off by the fork and the food that I didn't want anything else. I had no appetite after that. It wasn't worth the $20 at all. I was told when I was walking across the parking lot that it was a dirty place with subpar food and I wish I would have listened to the man in the parking lot. He was right....
