If I could give this place a “zero” star rating, I would. My husband and I were looking for a good Mexican food place since moving up here and this place had the best ratings. Being of Spanish descent myself, I was surprised at the serving of coleslaw and salsa when we arrived. We should have left then, but we didn’t. My husband ordered the chile colorado, a dish we know and love; I ordered I believe carne asada. Got the food and my husband’s dish looked like the food we used to feed our dog (Alpo Dog Food); mine looked so dry and dull. Took our first bite and immediately spit it out. We told our server we would just like the check; we’ll pay for the food but we won’t eat it. She immediately got defensive and in a snooty voice said she’d go get the manager. Manager came out and asked what the problem was, and we told her that this wasn’t the food we weren’t expecting and it wasn’t good. She then asked us if we were from the South. We said yes, then asked if we’re from the Guadalajara region, I said actually I have family there. From the face she made, she wasn’t expecting that answer (considering I am and look black). She then goes, “Well, if you’re from there, then you know this is the food they serve”. I said no they don’t but we’ll take our check, please and thank you. She offered to bag the food up for us to maybe give to some other family members, and I told her that we wouldn’t feed this to our family, check please. I realize that last comment was petty, but her tone of the whole conversation was just rude and dismissive, and to be honest, my statement was true. Stay away...
Read moreHorrible food, terrible service, but decent Mexican restaurant ambiance. We wanted to like this place but...My husband ordered the enchiladas poblanos and he felt his stomach seize up before we even got home. I didn’t even wind up eating anything but chips and salsa, despite my attempt to order real food.
Here’s how it went down: The waitress obviously didn’t know the menu well or care about our food or our experience at all. To start, she didn’t bring a drink menu so I asked if I could have a marg that wasn’t super sweet—she said they didn’t have anything like that—but when she brought the drink menu, it turned out they had a marg without extra sugar for $15 (as opposed to a cheaper “gummy bear marg.” So I went for the $15 marg with patron. It was okay, but damn near the weakest marg I’ve ever ordered for any amount, let alone fifteen bucks. For dinner, I ordered the Chile Relleno dinner, but the waitress wound up giving me the a la carte Chile relleno. I didn’t eat it anyway because the breading on it was absolutely gross, so honestly I was glad I just had one. I thought I might order some guacamole for dinner (safe choice) since my husband’s food was almost as bad as my relleno, but they only had a guacamole “dip.” Didn’t want to chance it. Thought, “okay I’ll just have beer for dinner,” but they were out of the good beers on the menu. My husband’s beer tasted like orange cleaning product. It was BAD y’all. The whole experience was laughable, and we will certainly...
Read moreGod, this place was absolutely terrible. There's more American food than Mexican on the menu, which should have been my first clue. But, the place looked cool, had a pool table, and I was figured I'd try it. The salsa tasted terrible. It tasted like a jarred salsa and they brought out cole slaw with it, which I did enjoy. But as I was eating, I noticed something under my finger on the back of my fork and turned it around to see that it was absolutely filthy. Then, my chinichanga came out covered in massive mounds of salsa, sour cream and guacamole, which was ok but I would have rather had it on the side since there was just so much of it. But, the worst part was that it was just a flour tortilla. It wasn't fried, like a chimichanga should be. The menu said it was an option to be that way but that I didn't ask for it that way and have never seen one come like that. It was terrible. I tried to just take the chicken out of it and eat it but it was flavorless and hardly had any in there. I ate one bite of it and told the waitress it was terrible. She asked if I wanted anything else but I was already so turned off by the fork and the food that I didn't want anything else. I had no appetite after that. It wasn't worth the $20 at all. I was told when I was walking across the parking lot that it was a dirty place with subpar food and I wish I would have listened to the man in the parking lot. He was right....
