Sunday AM breakfast 8-28-22 10:05 AM. Went there to honor my father who just passed as it was his favorite spot for breakfast. I used to meet him frequently here and it was always a good. Today really changed my mind on every going back. Staff was very friendly as always. Me and my sister both ordered breakfast and I wanted a healthy side so I got fruit and my sister changed to fruit also. Ive done this many times in the past with no up charge. Not today 1.99 more for each breakfast really? Our breakfast arrived mine with only one piece of toast my sister's over easy eggs arrived with no toast or not ready to eat and over easy eggs undercooked or runny. They did come 90 seconds later but only one slice of toast since when do meals have one piece of toast? My Omelet was at least 30% smaller than I've had in the past and pricing has gone up at least 20% to 25% since my last visit (I understand your prices have also have gone up I'm a 45 year veteran of the industry). The taste was on par to past visits don't care for scorched eggs but I know the drill on omelets. I must say $31.00 for a breakfast for two with one tea and a water is crazy especially since the portion size has gone way down. Needless to say I will never go back and will probably share this experience with many others. Good luck Rick maintaining your Buisness with these unfortunate changes. I seldom give reviews as I have responded to hundreds in my career. I did share my experience with the cashier she chose not to...
Read moreDo to a new work perk, my son and I went to try out Rick's diner for the first time today. As a vegetarian, I always like to check out the menu ahead of time to see if a place is worth my time. I was very excited by the menu options featured on Google. I was quite disappointed that the current menu didn't match the one pictured here.
We were not ignored when we first walked in. As we waited to be seated, I noticed the restaurant was about half full. My omelette was slightly runny. It made me question if other places use store pre mixed eggs which might explain why their eggs are never runny? I was expecting red skin potatoes as the menu om Google displayed, but what I received were partially recycled sweet potatoes that weren't as hot as my eggs.
My son stated that the menu stated to keep cost down, they had eliminated some menu options. One of some of those now missing menu items is what set them apart and encouraged me to visit. I did really cherish that their foods sources, when possible, are locally obtained. Sugar from Michigan, bread from Country Grains, which is located in Sylvania, for those of you unfamiliar.
The staff was friendly but I don't see a reason...
Read moreThe only reason I'm leaving a 4 star review is because.the portions are very small for the price you pay I ordered an omelet which wasn't the problem, it comes with home fries that was literally ten little cut up pieces of a potato I don't think that I even got one potatoes worth of cut up home fries. Also my husband is a very picky eater and we asked for his bacon to mot be crisp, I believe what he said was" I'd like my bacon floppy. But other than that the food was good. Now on to the staff, I think our waitress was having a bad day, cause you could hear her complaining to the hostess, loudly. I mean everybody has a bad day here and there, but she could have been a little quieter about it. Also we had to ask for more coffee, and they didn't have fountain drinks, so that means no free refills on the soda.(that may be a plus or minus to different people, but we like free refills) Over all the service today was mediocre at best, but like I said already, it may just have been a bad day situation.
This wouldn't be my first choice of place to eat, but its definitely not off the table.(no pun intended) I hope this helps someone out in deciding to try...
