Went to lunch here because the place we wanted to go was unexpectedly closed. Waited a long time without acknowledgment before being seated. Then seated in a booth which seemed to have some sort of busing station behind it, which stank. Server argued with me about the menu which was just odd. Paid $7.00 for two eggs over easy, which were almost perfect. 1 piece of toast that they didn’t even bother to butter. And the most disgusting hashbrowns. We asked for well done we got hard on the inside pieces of what seemed like rehydrated potatoes. I ate one bite. The shiny pool of liquid on the plate is oil. All over the place. No refill on coffee, no one asked us how our food was including the person who cashed us out, if you’ve ever worked in a restaurant you know it’s habit to say “how was everything” so I’m going to guess they’re tired of hearing complaints. Neither of us ate more than 1/3 of our food because it was just bad. I almost never leave a bad review, I like to leave good reviews and boost local, but this was insultingly bad.

First time at this restaurant. Our server Jenna was very polite. She informed us that they were short staffed and the kitchen was backed up so it would be a while. That was fine. However, the atmosphere was weird. The owner (oldest gentlemen) was present. He was observed several times with alcoholic beverages in his hand and drinking. I observed him open and drink two Heinekens and a high noon along with sharing this with several waitresses that drank off of him. One waitress looked dead at me while drinking with a look of concern. My husband ordered an egg Benedick that was consisted of a boiled egg, view photos. My Buffalo chicken wrap was good. It was buffalos sauce inside a wrap with crispy chicken and other ingredients. Their fries were good and that was the only plus. I honestly wouldn’t come back. It gave legs and eggs and the all women staff was a bit strange.

Rick's Cafe in Toledo is a charming little diner located on Monroe Street. The restaurant boasts a clean, rustic, and bright atmosphere, making it a pleasant place to dine. The staff is incredibly friendly, attentive, and efficient, ensuring a positive experience for all customers. The food at Rick's Cafe is generally delicious, with standout dishes like the Vintage Eggs Benedict, featuring incredibly flavorful smoked ham, and the stupendous home fries. However, the biscuits and gravy may not be for everyone, as they have an unusual flavor, possibly due to the use of white wine. Overall, Rick's Cafe is highly recommended for its excellent food, friendly staff, and charming atmosphere. While the biscuits and gravy may not be a hit for everyone, the rest of the menu is sure to satisfy.

Sunday AM breakfast 8-28-22 10:05 AM. Went there to honor my father who just passed as it was his favorite spot for breakfast. I used to meet him frequently here and it was always a good. Today really changed my mind on every going back. Staff was very friendly as always. Me and my sister both ordered breakfast and I wanted a healthy side so I got fruit and my sister changed to fruit also. Ive done this many times in the past with no up charge. Not today 1.99 more for each breakfast really? Our breakfast arrived mine with only one piece of toast my sister's over easy eggs arrived with no toast or not ready to eat and over easy eggs undercooked or runny. They did come 90 seconds later but only one slice of toast since when do meals have one piece of toast? My Omelet was at least 30% smaller than I've had in the past and pricing has gone up at least 20% to 25% since my last visit (I understand your prices have also have gone up I'm a 45 year veteran of the industry). The taste was on par to past visits don't care for scorched eggs but I know the drill on omelets. I must say $31.00 for a breakfast for two with one tea and a water is crazy especially since the portion size has gone way down. Needless to say I will never go back and will probably share this experience with many others. Good luck Rick maintaining your Buisness with these unfortunate changes. I seldom give reviews as I have responded to hundreds in my career. I did share my experience with the cashier she chose not to...

Do to a new work perk, my son and I went to try out Rick's diner for the first time today. As a vegetarian, I always like to check out the menu ahead of time to see if a place is worth my time. I was very excited by the menu options featured on Google. I was quite disappointed that the current menu didn't match the one pictured here.

We were not ignored when we first walked in. As we waited to be seated, I noticed the restaurant was about half full. My omelette was slightly runny. It made me question if other places use store pre mixed eggs which might explain why their eggs are never runny? I was expecting red skin potatoes as the menu om Google displayed, but what I received were partially recycled sweet potatoes that weren't as hot as my eggs.

My son stated that the menu stated to keep cost down, they had eliminated some menu options. One of some of those now missing menu items is what set them apart and encouraged me to visit. I did really cherish that their foods sources, when possible, are locally obtained. Sugar from Michigan, bread from Country Grains, which is located in Sylvania, for those of you unfamiliar.

The staff was friendly but I don't see a reason...

The only reason I'm leaving a 4 star review is because.the portions are very small for the price you pay I ordered an omelet which wasn't the problem, it comes with home fries that was literally ten little cut up pieces of a potato I don't think that I even got one potatoes worth of cut up home fries. Also my husband is a very picky eater and we asked for his bacon to mot be crisp, I believe what he said was" I'd like my bacon floppy. But other than that the food was good. Now on to the staff, I think our waitress was having a bad day, cause you could hear her complaining to the hostess, loudly. I mean everybody has a bad day here and there, but she could have been a little quieter about it. Also we had to ask for more coffee, and they didn't have fountain drinks, so that means no free refills on the soda.(that may be a plus or minus to different people, but we like free refills) Over all the service today was mediocre at best, but like I said already, it may just have been a bad day situation.

This wouldn't be my first choice of place to eat, but its definitely not off the table.(no pun intended) I hope this helps someone out in deciding to try...
