Oh. My. Gosh. Last time we came here was right after the COVID shutdown. And it was such a bad experience we swore we would never come back.
Until NYE 2024. It was my son's birthday, and he REALLY wanted to come here. So we paid for the NYE 2 pm to 6 pm package. We drove 47 minutes to get here from where we live. The tickets were $35 for adults and $18.95 for the kids. For our crew, that means we spent $260 for the evening (5 adults, 2 kids). The adult tickets included 1 free kids meal per adult ticket and the adults got a free meal. It included a $10 arcade card per person and an unlimited activities wristband. We also asked upon check in if all activities would be announced so we didn't miss anything. We were assured they would be announced. So off we went to the arcade. That $10 card gave each person 5 games each. Not much. And several games were not working.
Here's what was announced for the agenda when we bought the tickets.
2:00 PM - 6:00 PM Craft Station Fun Kids/Adults Craft Area: Decorate Your 2025 NYE Hat Time Capsule NYE Resolution Keepsake
What actually happened: you could get a free glow necklace, NYE plastic or paper hat, NYE paper glasses, NYE tiara, and a noise maker. No craft station. No announcement these free items were available either. We only found out because we walked in on another event in play room one, which is how we found out all the events were held in this room.
2:30 PM - 5:30 PM Family Fun Competitions Family Fun Competitions Include: Arcade Challenges Mario Kart Hoops 2024 Trivia Quest
What actually happened: there was a trivia game held at 3 pm unannounced. No arcade challenges, Mario Kart Hoops, no trivia quest. There were people sitting around a table answering trivia questions.
4:00 PM - 4:30 PM Big FUN Sundae Eating Contest
What actually happened: this contest was announced. When we went in the room, that is when we found out about the free NYE items (which were offered to all guests of Main Event), and we found out the only way you could join in on the sundae eating contest was to have signed up during the trivia game. The kids with us were highly disappointed. If someone who had signed up actually hadn't shown up, my bunch would have gotten nothing. Thankfully, 5 kids were all able to share a giant sundae. I did ask the people running the events to please make sure that they let people know upon check in next time that they needed to sign up.
5:30 PM - 6:00 PM Balloon Grab with prizes and Fun! Each family group will enter our party room filled with balloons and have a chance to pick a fun-filled balloon. *1 pick per RSVP’d family member *1 Family at a time gets entry to the room. Prizes range from $100 FUN Cards, 1 hour of Free Game Play, 1 session of Laser Tag, and 1 hour of bowling.
When we went to redeem our free meal tickets, the adults were able to choose from five items on a specific menu and the kids got two slices of pizza and a drink. And kids can be picky, and one kid didn't want pizza. There was a sign at the restaurant entrance saying to be seated, we needed to go to the bowling desk. So my husband waited in line at the desk to be seated, and then was told we had to go to the bar to be seated. We got seated finally. 5 minutes passed, then 10, then 15, then 20. No server in sight. When I went to the bar to find out if we could even get a server, I was told all the servers had called in or were running late, so it was just the two of them running the bar and it would take a while. The adults were able to choose from five items. The food was subpar. A "manager" came over to wait on us, but she was also trying to get a clearly inexperienced young man to help serve us as well.
There were no balloons offered at 6 pm to pop to even have a chance to win any of the announced prizes.
Please refund us for at least some of the $260 we paid. This was a very poorly planned event and after this, we will definitely not...

2:25 Arrived, no greeting or directional signs 3:00 Escape ordered (~30mins in line) 3:05 Sat (Noah) 3:08 Drinks, no suggestions (Noah, asked to start fried pickles) 3:15 Ordered, no suggestions (Christine (manager), asked who our server was because I suppose she forgot to manage that knowledge, only saw 1 time after, overlooked us, seemed scrambled and torn -- everybody did) 3:30 Fried pickles (Alisha, no forks, got napkins) 3:54 Status check (alisha, pink shirt) 3:55 Returned to clarify order (was it put in by noah or christine?) 3:56 Returned again to clarify (learned yesterday's high winds caused systems outages from which recovery is still occurring. asked what can be done to make today's visit right, was told don't know, I suggested more games??? she said she'd check) 4:00 Entree arrived without 1 (Alisha, burger) 4:02 burger arrived (Alisha) 4:20 got 3 $30 cards 0700-0000-6364-1477 0700-0000-6364-1478 0700-0000-6364-1479 (Alisha) 4:21 got check (Alisha) 4:22 paid $80 cash, debit remaining, $15 tip, check #1418 table 106/1 station 10 (Alisha performed better than Christine, and Noah, was apologetic, didn't know who our server was but it wasn't her, offered and gave no comp or extra game bonus) 5:30 Kellen helped with getting cash back for escape room because we ran out of time. Seemed lost/confused. Had to ask how to process a cash refund. Followed lady with long ponytail with no name tag to bar for refund. Escape pass was written on a guest check number 98896 initialed either WB or MB. She left the bar asking for 5 minutes tops while she I suppose went elsewhere to process the refund. 5:32 My ladies said several stalls in lady's bathroom too dirty to use 5:38 received cash refund from the same bar register she previously departed, reunited with ladies (more than 5 minutes tops) 5:39 tried to purchase dip and dots, said that flavor was out choose another flavor, picked another flavor and it said insert money even though we already did. Enraging after the ordeal we decided to not wait extra time and just left. 5:40 Departed very angry and disappointed.
Broken Games: Pirates Hook Left hypershoot Right NBA hoops next to left hypershoot Mario and Sonic at the Olympic games Transformers human alliance Leftmost ski ball game
Over 3 hours, TERRIBLE: line, appetizer, food, checkout. games were fun, a few were broken. We never got to our escape room we paid cash for but got a refund. At no time was this experience made right or were we compensated in any fashion to help make this first-time experience amazing. The ticket redemption value compared to the item/prize was inappropriate, so we did not cash out ticket winnings. I'm an IT guy and I totally understand systems outages and downtime coupled with experiences that are caused from that problem. This doesn't mean there should not be a backup plan so business can continue to flow as smoothly as possible. This was an absolute cluster-heff. We will assume the reaction to this survey will be equally if not more...
Read moreThe ratings I’m giving here are really inappropriate. Not because Main Event deserved better, but because in most respects, they deserved less than one star. Nearly every aspect of our experience at Main Event yesterday was a complete and utter disaster. The calamity started when the front desk was unable to find our bowling lane reservation - we had reserved two lanes and even paid in advance, but even when shown the confirmation, the front desk attendant was either unable or unwilling to accommodate the reservation. Fortunately (or unfortunately if you consider the remainder of our experience), the manager was able to find our reservation and move us to the bowling shoe window. After shrugging off their inability to find appropriate sizes for the women in our group, we went to the lanes for what we had all hoped would come with swift food and drink service. 40 minutes later, we hadn’t even been so much as greeted by one of the multiple wait staff wandering the area, so we took it upon ourselves to walk to the bar to order our own. By the way, there was no bowling bliss in this 40 minutes either - there was a major malfunction in the foot faulting system on our lanes so most of the rolls were marred by faulting violations that hadn’t occurred and then score corrections to fix them. Eventually we just gave up on the score corrections and bowled for our own “enjoyment.” Eventually a waitress appeared on the scene and was able to assist us in ordering some food and drinks. Much to our surprise, the food arrived and it wasn’t bad - I was honest in our review of the food. However, only about 1/2 of our drinks arrived and my wife’s white wine arrived in a glass that had lipstick on it. Eager to salvage an enjoyable experience for our kids, we paid the exorbitant fees for some gaming cards and sent them on their way. Of course, most of the games malfunctioned and stopped keeping score or malfunctioned in some other way. My daughter (10 years old) even quit halfway through because she said all the games she was playing were malfunctioning. No sense in even trying. In two hours reserved on the lanes, because of the foot fault issues, we bowled maybe 13 frames. Didn’t come close to finishing. This place is great in theory, but the management is abysmal. I wouldn’t encourage my worst enemy to go there. Go to Andy B’s or Dave and Buster’s for a family fun experience -...
