Iron Skillet is located in the Petro Truck Stop and close to the Greyhound Bus Station. My husband is a truck driver and loves this place! They have an all you can eat buffet and a counter just for truckers plus booths and tables. We came with our daughter and her boyfriend and ordered off the menu. My husband and I ordered the Southern smothered pork chops with mashed potatoes, those also come with a salad. My daughter wasn't really hungry and had fries while her boyfriend Bernie, ordered an omelette. Yes, you can order breakfast even at night! The plates are cute silver skillets. We didn't have too long of a wait for the food and it came nice and hot. It all tasted so good, wish we had room for dessert but we didn't. My only complaint here was our waitress, she may have been new. Didn't smile, didn't come fill out drinks or check on us but she was talking to a lot of truck drivers at their counter whom may have been regulars. She didn't wear a name tag or I would've mentioned it. It ended up costing $54.98 for our meal with a party of four, so not too bad.

Not too much to brag about. The food was pretty decent. We had chicken a sandwich and a quesadilla. Ask for a knife because, you're going to have to cut your lettuce up for the quesadilla yourself. I've never seen a quesadilla served with whole leaf lettuce. So I had to like break it up into smaller pieces myself. But it was okay. This food is nothing that I would say rush out and get. We only stopped there because I thought they still had that buffet. I mean it's truck stop food. nothing too much to brag about pretty decent though nice sit-down area quiet. Dishes are old an outdated. But I'm not sure if that's part of their way of making it look more nostalgic and older. Pulling into the parking lot,you have your standard lot lizards out there and some homeless, sitting down, sometimes in front of the door. They open the door for you like they are the concierge.

Ordered the Ribeye, with baked potato and salad with Italian dressing. I asked the waitress to wait until I was done with my salad to send back my order due to med/rare doesn't take long to cook. I didn't even get ½ way through my salad, see picture, when something arrived that she said was a ribeye but, as thin as it was I would have to call it a breakfast steak at best. But, definitely not a $27.00 steak dinner. I'm totally ashamed that I even wasted my money. Not only was the steak disappointing. I wasn't even able to finish my salad due to it being wilted down after setting in the dressing while I ate my dinner so it wouldn't get cold.

The waitress came to our table. Took our order brought our teas streight out we drink our teas the one glass we got she didnt even come check if we needed refills the whole almost 3 hrs we sat there waiting on our food. After we starting seeing the 15 people after us. Getting there food they had ordered so i asked her were is our food we had been waiting on for 2 hrs. She started getting an attitude and told us her. Computer was messing up and didnt send our order so she told the cook our order and it would be out in a few well my fience and i started. Watching other coustmers walk out becouse they had sat there an hr waiting on her service but never took there orders. So at this point we was so frustrated and i walked up to our waitress and said look how much is the bill. For the tea and the small salad i got with the meal we never receved she gives me a bill for 41.56 and i just looked at her funny and said 41 dollars for 2 teas and a small salad i dont think so and we still hadent got our food she jerked the bill back from me and said. Just dont worry about it its on me. And opened her cash drawer and slammed it shut as we was walking to the truck. We herd a loud banging noise looked back and our waitress was beating the door out side of the kitchen and was litterly punching the door as hard as she can so i will be contacting her manager in the morning i would give her a negative 5 star. Maybe next. Time if there is one we will get...

We are living on the road traveling across state and finally had a chance to eat a home cooked meal in at least a month me and my fiance were so excited he ordered the chicken Parm and I ordered the chicken fried steak .. this was at night the cook was a very young looking guy and the whole time we were waiting for our food thinking it was taking long because it was going to be so good we noticed the cook was on the other side of our table the whole time talking story .... We didn't hear nothing cooking at all no smell of delicious food ... We finally saw him walk back to the kitchen then the microwave started going .... When we got our foot my fiance had this hard chicken with spaghetti under it with so much noodles and so little sauce it was dry .. we were so disappointed to spend about $50 there to get food we could have bought from Walmart and stuck in the microwave and still be better ...we left disappointed and definitely feeling like we were ripped off I don't complain too much about food but this was a little ridiculous definitely don't recommend going at night we tried again in the morning spent $50 again but the cook there actually cooked our food and it was delicious I wanted my money back for the night before honestly the night shift was lazy and...

There's a reason the iron skillet is almost always empty nowadays, and I'll tell ya why.

The food is garbage. If you're going to charge me $15 for a burger and fries, it should probably taste better than a cheeseburger off the dollar menu at McDonald's.

The portion of fries was super small, like a small handful, and the "smash burger" was a complete joke. Two 'patties' were both burned on one side, and hadn't touched any sort of heat source on the other side and never having been cooked beyond looking like a meat ball. There was no sauce on the burger, and almost no sauteed mushrooms or onions as advertised. My understanding of a smash burger is that the patties are literally smashed down while they cook to make a thin crispy meat patty. I'll attach pictures of what I was served. If I hadn't already been waiting so long, and needed to get a shower before going to sleep I would've returned the food and gotten something else in the C store. 😐

The one and only shining moment of this dining experience was the sweet tea, and quiet empty dining room, because apparently everyone else already knows this place...
