I give a 50-50 on this particular restaurant at this time because for the short period I have tried Popeyes it has been nothing but decent food. Today I was going to try for the fourth time for the hype everyone talks about, so far the chicken sandwiches are my go to until I got their biscuits. I placed my order and picked up through the drive through. Once I got my order and took it back home to enjoy with my girlfriend, my girlfriend jolts on shock and tells me that there is a live bug in the biscuits. Of course we checked our food but unfortunately couldn't take the chance to attempt to eat the food we paid for. The people are okay no attitude to complain about, the service is good not great, the food WAS good while it lasted, but the cleanliness is now terrible. Finding a live bug in your food when you try to enjoy it is really disappointing, unfortunately I can't say that if I would try Popeyes ever again after this. Unless they can guarantee not only to me but other customers that make their purchases there that their food is clean and safe. I worry mainly to the public because of their families that take it home and are unaware of what may be in their food. This review is honest and not to put down Popeyes, but let everyone know to be careful. I also know that if the staffing would do a better job of cleaning regardless of a perfect manager or not to make sure to keep up with the food preparation before going out the door and leaving the cooking spaces. I know little about the food industry but I know plumbing, and if I had to make a point to anyone for anyone saying that this review is a joke or just a mean comment I will tell everyone to look under that water heater they have and tell me there isn't anything dead or crawling around and spreading. Please if you have any questions about the information I put down or the location specifics let me know the address to this location is 7612 s Western Ave, Oklahoma City ok, 73139
I am not sorry for a honest review but I am sorry for those who may continue to eat here and management does nothing for...
Read moreThis establishment needs an overhaul. First time getting a spicy chicken sandwich we asked for two sides of macaroni and cheese. We get home and they have us fries instead.
Second time to going we asked for two classic chicken sandwiches with fries. We get home and only get one order of fries which were cold, and the chicken sandwiches are TERRIBLE. The buns alone felt hard as a rock. And the chicken wasn’t crispy. Only took one bite. This was during lunch hour mind you, where food should be more fresh than any other time of day. This time I decided to get back in the car and go back to the restaurant to explain the problem.
Management was hardly helpful and everyone in the restaurant seemed pretty clueless. I told the manager if I were a cook and the bun felt hard as a rock I wouldn’t serve it to someone. The manager said they had to make the sandwiches an hour ahead in order to handle the lunch rush which is why the food doesn’t taste fresh. Are you kidding me?? Hire more people then! No one wants to pay $12 for two hard and cold chicken sandwiches and one order of cold fries!
The ONLY positive I can say is that the staff did seem like they wanted to be nice and the drive through cashier was friendly, but that will only get you so far if you can’t get good fresh food out the door. It doesn’t help when you have problems because then they stop trying to be helpful. From what I understand, many other Popeye’s have similar problems. Will not be eating anymore...
Read moreThe chicken sandwich came back today! I didn't get a chance to try one the last time before they sold out. This time I made sure to get thereas close to opening time as possible because I figured there was going to be a huge crowd. I arrived at 10:32 am ~ managed to grab a spot in line and I was order number 31. I ordered 2 spicy chicken sandwiches and an order of fries. I didnt mind really as it's to be expected with such a legendary sandwich return. The wait time was about 1 hour and 10 minutes and it worth every bit of the wait. There were people using mobile order which allowed them to get ahead of the line which sucked, but had I been using my noggin I probably would've done the same thing. All in all the sandwich is definitely competition to chick fil a. The meat hangs over the bun and it was absolutely delicious. I know what all the hype is about now, I'd wait another hour for another one just because it's that good! The best part of all was that THEY ARE OPEN SUNDAY!!! Thanks Popeye's...for such a huge crowd the employees were doing the absolute best that they can to keep up with the volume and crank those orders out as fast as they possibly can. They deserve commendation for the hard work they were doing. Everybody was moving at...
