I paid $50 for what I thought would be dinner, but instead I got a culinary prank. I ordered cilantro-lime rice and refried beans. What I got was “mystery rice” — stale, with random chunks of corn like someone dropped their freezer bag into the pot — and a couple sad, limp threads of cilantro tossed on top for decoration. The beans? Oh, you mean the bean-flavored water. There wasn’t a single bean to be found, just juice. It was like someone whispered “refried” near a pot of broth and called it a day. The packaging was another joke — Styrofoam trays with food dumped straight in like it came off a cafeteria line in 1997. No foil, no care, just vibes. The entrees themselves tasted old enough that I wondered if they came with a side of tetanus. The only thing halfway decent was the black beans, and that’s only because, miracle of miracles, they actually contained beans. I used to like Ted’s, but apparently they’ve moved on from “quality food” to “performance art in disappointment.” Save yourself the $50 and go literally anywhere else — gas station nachos, dog food aisle, the grass in your yard — you’ll have a better dining experience.

Ted's is the favorite Mexican food restaurant of a lot of people in Oklahoma City. There are a few good reasons for that. The salsa, chips and flour tortillas they serve for free with every meal is excellent. The salsa is fresh and tasty. The tortillas are the best I've had in the city (and I eat Mexican food a lot). I had the Escondido Especial (please excuse me if I missed the spelling there). It's a standard Mexican combination with two enchiladas, a tamale, and a taco. There are a lot of options to upgrade or customize how that meal is ordered. Their corn as a side is a good change for either beans or rice. I thought the meal was really tasty. The beef enchilada and cripy taco were especially good. I think the refried beans were a letdown. Also, it's important to note that dining at Ted's is going to run about $5-$10 more, per person, than most of the Mexican restaurants that I frequent, and their portions on fajitas, for example, might actually be less than what you get elsewhere for a lower price. The place is clean and bright and the staff is good here.

Hungry on a Tuesday....Ted's was in the right place at the right time.... Seated promptly and then greeted with a smile by our server!. Izze was our server and made up our complimentary chips /salsa/queso and tortillas in a flash! I could tell she was going to be awesome... Izze was super fantastic! My entree was the Monterey chicken wrap. It was hot and over stuffed with onions and peppers. I was craving fries in addition to the rice and beans...crazy I know. It all was pretty tasty....(had it once before) The overall pace and attention Izze showed was VIP like in my perspective. So thank you Izze for being awesome. I also showed appreciation via gratuity shown in the picture... This Ted's is go to and close to the house....The staff overall should be commended. Respectfully, Bryan Moore Oklahoma

I used to like Teds... Like 20yrs ago... but now..... no. I first started disliking Ted's when delivery started.... the following was EVERYTIME someone in my household ordered Ted's. Wrong food. Cold food. Missing food. Since then I said I'd never order fromm them again- but I would Dine-in. Then sometime ago I went with my mother.... Service was grossly lacking, food was over cooked and tasteless... the only thing that tasted good was the salsa, Pico, guacamole. I then said, I'll eat Ted's if someone else is paying, but I won't spend my money here or choose to eat here... Yesterday I was asked if I wanted to go to Teds... I didn't feel like cooking and hesitantly agreed.. I'm in from OTR and parents wanted to go. The server.... who was sweet and nice, couldn't grasp the concept that she needed to project her voice... TED'S IS LOUD.... her being sweet was about the extent of her abilities though.... chips and salsa, asked if we wanted the extras... yes.... waited, waited, waited. Then came back and asked, are you ready to order? Seriously? No, but we would like what we asked for 15 min ago. (We weren't aholes about it, I'm just really annoyed right now) Finally the extras come out and by then we were out of salsa.... Placed our order, added side of guac and s-cream. Asked for more salsa and tortillas. waited. Waited. Waited. Waited. Waited. Waited. Nothing came. Finally the entrees come out... We'll just describe mine. I had the steak fajitas... I should have snapped a pic. The peppers and onions were so over cooked that they were the same color. The steak had ZERO flavor and was like eating jerky.. When the server finally showed back up..... I said, can we please have the guacamole, sour cream, salsa, and tortillas we asked for... she points at my fajita sides and says they're right there..... I said no ma'am, that's my fajita stuff.... I did not finish my jerky skillet, and I'm a garbage disposal..... Iusually clean my plate, then eat the rest of everybody else's they didn't finish.... NOPE.... not today satan..... FAST FORWARD TO THIS MORNING...... I woke up to stomach cramps and ran to the toilet..... where I've been 4 more times today..... So........ long story- long..... Never again..... Unless I'm constipated, and medication hasn't worked, or im scheduled for a coloniscpy and rather not drink the...

Let me start by letting everyone know that to go orders have been holding down and supporting restaurants during this time (covid-19) so to be treated poorly by this place is offensive to say the lease... I called this location and I received a busy signal. I was trying to place a curb side order. So I drove to the location and told the host I was unable to get through to place my order and needed to place one to go. I had no desire to be inside the restaurant as covid-19 is still heavy on the radar at this time. Businesses have just begun to open 2 days ago yet this place was packed. Not only was there several people outside the building there were more than 10 waiting in the waiting area alone. This made me very nervous. The host said she told the to go personnel but never moved from the stand and she was not friendly at all. So I sat a few minutes without ever being addressed. I told her id try to call again maybe that would be faster and I stepped outside because it was very uncomfortable for me with how crowded the place was.. There was not 6ft sectioning in the dining area or in the waiting area. There were so many people in this place I got nervous and just had to leave as more people entered the restaurant. They were not concerned with keeping people safe I can see that. I placed a call again an hour before close as I went back to my car and the to go person finally answered and said they are no longer taking orders. I am very unhappy with this place. It was not my decision to eat here it was my girlfriends. And I told her they are being very unsafe at this time and they were not friendly at all. It will never be my decision to come back to this place and I will not recommend anyone go especially when this virus has no symtoms for 2 weeks. Your putting yourself at risk and this place is not concerned with...

I've eaten at Ted's randomly over the last 3 decades, and enjoyed it each time. After this last visit I won't be returning. I've eaten in 48 states, Canada, and Mexico. Tonight I ordered a double combo fajita. What I got should've been embarrassing to the A.M. By all previous standards, I got the equivalent of 1.25 of a dbl serving. 2 little puddles of beans, but an abundance of rice, guac, sour cream, picante, cheese and tortillas. Our waitress Cheyenne was great and she brought her A.M. over. He said owner sold it 5 yrs ago, that portions were measured out, and proudly "we have been in business 75 yrs!" from this A.M. in his late 20s. He mentioned cutting some off the bill, then failed to do so. I pointed out that the small spatter of beans was their cheapest commodity. For $33, I shouldn't have to ration what I put on each fajita to get any ingredient on it. With barely noticeable scrapings of beans on 8 fajitas, I ran out of them completely, eating 4 more with less of each of the other condiments. We also overheard a Convo with 2 older female guests whom were not put on the list at all for a table. When they confronted the host, she got them the next available one. As they were being seated, the female host said to her helper "I didn't even put them on the list...I don't even give a f*ck" The A.M. was more interested in following portions protocol then fixing the problem and keeping my business. Therefore, if new ownership prefers this kind of performance from their employees, they no longer deserve my business. I get larger portions, especially beans, at fuzzys taco, south of the border, and other establishments, without having it demonstrated by an A.M. that me spending my money there is the least of his concern. This is how great places deteriorate and close their doors forever....
