Texas Roadhouse — Restaurant in Oklahoma City

Oh, where do I start? I shouldn’t even be wasting my phone battery on this but, here I am, so I guess I’ll start with her name, JADA or JAYDA? Horrible horrible horrible… so I understand things happen, things get forgotten, places get busy etc. So we begin by ordering our drinks, AND our food at the same time since we knew what we wanted, we had a simple order, 3 salads, ONE WITH NO ONION EXTRA RANCH, ONE WITH ONION and a side of ribs for dine-in and ONE TO-GO. Oh and two bags of peanuts while we wait. So we repeated the order back to her just in case (which we didn’t mind) because it appeared she didn’t understand and her response was “I got you.” We get our drinks, no peanuts, okay maybe she forgot, some time goes by and I ask her for the peanuts, finally get the peanuts, no biggie. As we sit there and wait, a party of about 15 sits across from us but we ordered our food so we should be good, NOT. Finally our food arrives, we get 3 salads on plates but one was to go, I thought she “got me.” The lady leaves 2 salads with us and takes one back as it was TO-GO. Long time goes by and my wife needs a refill, but no worries, our server “gots us” so we thought. Wait, I’m realizing we didn’t get our ribs so I’m looking around to see if maybe she will see me but I don’t see her (okay maybe she has other tables in other sections.) Oh there she is, nope just goes right on by. Finally I get her attention and signals me with her finger to hold on… As she grabs a tea jug and goes to refill the table next to us, but I’m sure she’ll come over after, at least that’s what I was thinking. She proceeds to make her way to a different table further away, okay… she’ll be right over after… no, she had to urgently get back to the computer, so we keep waiting. Finally comes back over to ask if everything is okay, and I tell her my wife needs a refill, and we never got our ribs and the extra ranch. My wife decides to kindly ask her for the onion on my salad since they didn’t put it on my salad. She said something along the lines of “the ribs didn’t get put in” okay, I’m okay if my wife just gets a refill at this point. Some 20 minutes go by and no refill, then I realize our server is cleaning up the table she was refilling tea for, when she signaled me to hold on way earlier, which she was good at, I think that’s her strength because serving tables definitely isn’t or maybe as a hostess. I guess still no word on the ribs… oh here she comes, the onion has arrived, at least I got my onion. I quickly realize that the large party across from us that got here after we placed our order is digging in, something is definitely wrong at this point. I would have been okay if she would just have came over and gave me an update on the ribs. I think an update was too much to ask for, apparently even a refill was too much to ask for, which finally came after about 20-25 minutes. I usually have 2-3 drinks with dinner but tonight I was kind of afraid to finish the one I had (which I didn’t even finish.) I am a firm believer of tipping for good service, I can say with one hand how many times I’ve tipped $0.00 and this location was 2 of those times, I felt like apologizing to the servers in the past whom I’ve tipped $0.00 because the server tonight takes the cake. Her lack of urgency was next to disgusting and definitely didn’t even try. As I finish eating the ribs finally arrived but I don’t want them anymore, the guy that brought them out insisted we take them for free and he even brought a to-go box, how convenient, my wife accepts them and we move along. We have loved Texas Roadhouse for quite a few years having frequented ones in Virginia until moving to Oklahoma last year. The food was always good, the sides delicious and who can resist those yummy rolls. Last night we returned to a Texas Roadhouse, this time in Oklahoma City. We were seated quickly and served a basket of rolls. The rolls were a bit hard and chewy not the signature warm, soft and fresh. Strike 1. We requested a new basket and got the rolls Texas Roadhouse is famous for, yum! We ordered waters and a couple of Long Island Iced Tea's. I felt the drink was very weak, long Islands are typically 4 shots of alcohol, rum, gin, vodka and triple sec. So I ordered a shot of vodka to give it a boost. The server was taken aback when I asked for the shot. She hesitated then reluctantly put in the order. When she brought me the shot, she remarked that my drink ( long island) wasn't finished and was reluctant to give me the shot! Strike 2! Let me also point out that we had ordered a appratiser and were eating that at this time. It's not like we were just drinking.

We then placed our order for dinner. I ordered hot boneless wings, Texas chili and a ceaser salad. My wife ordered a cup of the same chili and my aunt ordered beef tips with mashed potatoes and her side was a baked potatoe. When the food came my aunt got the beef tips but no mashed potatoes. They did fix that. Perhaps the preparer got confused because she asked for a baked potato as her side, no big. When I got my boneless wings they looked like small chicken tenders not boneless wings, no big but they didn't have any sauce on them and looked rather vanilla. Sent them back and got a basket of wings that looked like chicken bites covered in butter sauce. They were not very good. So to be fair, I have never tried TR wings before so maybe that's just the way they do them. Definatly would never order those again. The chili was not very good either, was pretty much very similar to Hormel in the can variety, wouldn't ever eat that again either. Can't say all the above leads to Strike 3 but . . . I'm not so sure I...

I will never be back to this location…. I have been to this location many times, but after the service I received last night 9/19/24 never again. I went to this location like I normally do when meeting with friends and family. This was a special night as it was my birthday dinner. Which was completely ruined. We had a young server by the name of Kody. At first it was a little rocky took a while to even get created by him. We were like okay no big deal. We place our drink order and ordered appetizers and a two-year-old’s food so that way she could eat because she was cranky. The appetizers and the child’s meal did not come. we placed our dinner order an hour and 10 minutes later. We received another appetizer before that was placed when we finally ordered dinner. We understood they were a little busy, but we had reached out to the manager and told him about what was going on because the server was not communicating at all. We then requested the server not come back to our table because he was being completely rude. We then found out he forgot to place the order that is why it was all delayed. Then Kody asked if we would like another server we said yes please. After we had these conversations, Kody came back to our table with an even worse attitude and hateful. We could not understand why he was allowed back at our table. We told him to please leave us alone and get the other server. He had began to mouth off to us at the table. We found the same manager and asked why he was allowed to come back. We told him we didn’t want him as a server. I then told him he should be let go and should not be in this line of work due to his hateful attitude and talking to customers like he did. Let me remind you we had a party of 9. We explain to him that we tried to be patient and tried to be patient, but his attitude made it worse. Then the manager had an attitude by this time I was completely over it. So I made the decision to leave. This was completely unprofessional and uncalled for, and I will never be back to this location...
