Edit: I have to update my review. We regularly got to Torchy's but noticed recently that they installed 2 self service computers. They are very frustrating to use. We were also very surprised to see that there were NO associates on the front of house area to even be available if we had any questions. We had to try and sort through the entire menu to figure it out, which took way too long. There was also no bartender available either. Once we finally got our food ordered I tried applying my birthday discount, but couldnt even read the options as they were all cut off because of the size of the pop up window. Even after selecting the one that I thought was queso it didnt actually apply the discount to the order. We did make sure to order queso, but couldn't tell if it was the one that actually qualified for the discount. Again, no one around to offer any assistance. Then after we sat down and recieved our food, to which we had to ask about our queso and the gal realized she forgot it. She promptly brought it out. However, we usually dont eat all the queso with the provided chips, so we usually ask for more. Again, no one was around to ask, so we had to throw away half our queso because we needed to leave to catch a movie. The food was still delicious, but the service has tanked this establishment. IF we return I will refuse to use those self service stations. If no one is around, we will just leave.
Original review: One of my go to places when I'm hangry and can't figure out what I want to eat. The tacos are delicious! I ALWAYS get the tipsy chick taco and then try a different taco or the new taco of the month. I love the variety! My husband loves the brushfire tacos as he likes a lot of spice. Don't forget the hillbilly queso! They give you so much, we always have to ask for more chips. I also love meeting my girl friends here for peg leg margaritas. It's the perfect spot for hanging out with friends or for a nice family dinner. The food is healthy, good and made quick....
Read morePulled into the parking lot and there was a long line in the drive-thru - saw about 3-4 “order attendants” there to assist the volume. We were dining-in that night so we grabbed a close spot and went in. The line was to the door. It’s an order-at-the-counter place - with many tables to accommodate. QR code’s and paper menus are available as you make your way to the counter. The decor was fun and fresh! I loved the reflectors in the breezeway and the light fixtures are awesome. The line moved fairly fast. Employees were quickly cleaning/disinfecting tables.
We decided to try a couple of tacos each (my husband and I) and also ordered the guacamole and chips. The guy taking our order was super friendly, helpful, and accurate. We got an “order buzzer” and went to grab a table. The manager was circulating the dining area and assisting - also very friendly and attentive.
They delivered our food to our table quickly - considering how busy they were. The drive thru line never let up! It was impressive to see that all of our items came out perfectly, hot, fresh, and with nice presentation! We ordered the following: Crossroad (jerk chicken), Brushfire (shredded brisket), Mr. Orange (grilled salmon), and Trailer Park (crispy chicken). The worst thing about this review is that I can not decide which one was the best!!! They were all AMAZING! The guacamole was probably one of the greatest I have ever had. Chips were nice, thin, warm, and crispy.
We are planning our next visit, taking the whole fam for my husband’s birthday next weekend. Although... not sure I will wait a week to return! SOOOO GOOD!
GO. THERE. You will love it! If you are sensitive to spicy... order sauces on the side. Don’t let a fear of flavor scare you away from trying it all!
Welcome to Olathe,...
Read moreUpdate: now they’ve been established a while, service has gone DOWN. If you’re in the area, travel down to the one on 135th in OVP. Most recently I attempted the drive through since our dining experience was enough to make me want to say Never Again. Food was dry, stale sloppy…etc. So I attempt the drive through and after sitting for 4:47 (I know because it was long enough to hear a full joke on Netflix is a joke podcast) and many, many “hello…hello” attempts to get service with no response I drive on through through thinking the system is broken only to pull up to the window and the employee tell me she Could in fact, hear me. So why didn’t you try saying “one moment”. I’m understanding. I just wanted to know that someone was around to assist. Suffice it to say I took this as a sign I’m not to eat here today and called it. It’s too bad. Really wanted that Mr. Orange. Lol.
I am a picky eater but thoroughly enjoyed our drive through experience. The street corn was phenomenal. Democrat was delicious Brushfire was true to its name - Fire hot jerk chicken not for the faint. Grande Burrito was certainly true to its name. Two hands to hold to paint a picture! They do not skimp out on filling you up. At first we balked a little at the prices but once we received the goods and tasted the flavors we understood. Even for drive through at a busy time the service was quick and friendly. I have included pictures; pardon some of them as we couldn’t wait to dive in! So long as they maintain friendly employees and the quality of their product, Torchy’s...
