Updated review.... Went in for breakfast after the remodel. Pleasantly surprised. I was ready for the worst after that breakfast burrito, but they have redeemed themselves in my eyes. Review amended accordingly.
Went in for brekkie with the wife, love having a breakfast spot so closeby. We shared a big breakfast plate and it was all good. They also had a stupendous selection of hot sauces, so I felt heard as well. They have met my standards for breakfast and will become part of the rotation. Super happy to see it.
Only downside- the wife said her coffee could have used a refill. Service was a bit slow, but hopefully they can figure that out.
Woo!
14 dollars, for THIS?!
I got suckered in by an Instagram post, and decided to try their breakfast burritos. Holy heck what a disgrace. I don't know how they did it, but they seem to have dehydrated their burritos before serving.
Wrapped in a chewy, nasty, overly wheat smelling tortilla, no fluffy occasionally semi-translucent flour tortilla like a burro should have. One goop of dry cheese, and some nasty, way over processed looking "sausage" with little to no flavor, and bacon chopped to oblivion.
The texture was seriously sawdust. I couldn't even get through the damned thing. It was horrifying, insulting, and just plain gross. I'd say I got a bad one but it wasn't just me.
Not to mention charging 14 dollars for this absolute monstrosity of a wasted food log. For the prices they charge, we could have sat down and ate AND had coffee.
There's no way they're trying these for themselves throughout the day. Burritos should be freshly made, with flour tortillas off of a griddle.
It's not that hard.
Also, absolutely no salsa available. So you have to just choke this thing down.
So disappointed in the burro. Sad cause it's close to me and would have been super convenient.
I really, really, did not like it. I really wanted to, but again, Oly Mexican food has let me down. DO YOUR DANGED RESEARCH..... GET MORE THAN ONE OPINION
just the worst. The filling station burritos and ones in most of the coffee shacks are miles ahead. And that is really not saying much. Just ridiculous for the price.
And honestly, if you did your homework, maybe looked into some salsa (at least hot sauce packs) and gave it another go with a tortilla that wasn't made of wood, I would try it again. PLEASE CONSULT WITH MEXICANS.... ONES WHO HAVE ACTUALLY...

Got the french toast and cowboy omelette. I asked the server if they served pure maple syrup and she said yes. I wouldâve ordered something different if it didnât. It came with margarine (SunGlow) and absolutely not 100% maple syrupâit was corn syrup-based. The taste wasnât good. The french toast itself was okay, but a bit dry. I boxed it up and took it home. Some people ask these questions because theyâre sensitive to corn. Although thatâs not me, Iâd just rather eat pure maple syrup. I wish she would have asked the kitchen or investigated herself, but she told me she would just let the kitchen know when I told her. For the price of it, I feel it should come with real butter and pure maple syrup. The omelette was okay, the potatoes were good. Good flavor and cooked well. The coffee wasnât good. Very bitter. Very truck-stop tasting coffee and itâs $5 bottomless. Orange juice is $5 for a cup thatâs about 5â or 5.5â tall, itâs very little. Be ready to spend about $25-$27 per person if you get coffee and breakfast and with the tip.
Evidently you can bring your dog inside and outside the restaurant because there was a French bulldog in there. I was surprised dogs werenât patio only.
The atmosphere was mostly cute, though. French bulldog themed. Tall ceilings. A lot of seating for a small space. Decent parking lot and surrounding street parking.
Overall, I wouldnât go back for the price point and lower quality products used not...
Read moreFrenchies has recently transformed into a sit-down breakfast cafe as of March 2025, moving away from their previous donut focus. This review reflects my experience during their opening weekend, so please keep in mind that things are likely to improve as they settle into the new concept.
What I Tried: I sampled the French Toast and ordered an Egg & Cheese Sandwich to go. The French Toast was satisfactory. The Egg & Cheese Sandwich, however, was a highlight, benefiting from their excellent sourdough bread and generous, thick-cut bacon (though my order was mistakenly made with bacon).
While Frenchies was known for its popular donuts, the shift to a full breakfast cafe is understandable given the demands of running a small bakery.
Room for Improvement: To elevate the experience, I'd suggest considering a few additions: Dedicated Take-Out Area: Streamlining the to-go process could improve service speed. More Vegetarian Options. Bagel Menu: Adding bagels would offer more breakfast options. Enhanced Ambiance: Injecting more personality into the cafe's atmosphere with elements like colorful menus, varied seating, and decor could enhance the dining experience and recapture some of the charm of the previous concept.
Overall: Currently, Frenchies provides a decent breakfast option in Olympia. With some fine-tuning, particularly in creating a more distinct identity, I'm optimistic that this new cafe can become a unique and appealing spot...
