Internet ordering doesn't work apparently.
Arrived a half hour after ordering for pickup to be told my pizza did not exist, and my receipt (and a call to the Wildwood location) showed that it did not get sent to the other pizzeria.
Waited nearly five minutes after telling the employee I didn't have time for them to make it, I needed to leave and have it refunded before the manager stopped talking to her friend and began to give me a long winded spiel about how the refund process works while I repeat that I don't really have time.
Apparently a manager cannot process a refund and the owner needs to come in the next day, and so to "document" me, a handwritten note was written down with my pertinent contact information. It's hard to believe a manager doesn't have access to refund an item that never actually got sold. So, this leaves me with NO RECEIPT for the reversal, just hoping that this piece of paper actually gets delivered to the owner and they actually reverse the charge and it actually shows up within a week and that I don't have to start initiating a chargeback. Like seriously, no way to reverse it right there? You're just left in the lurch not knowing if you'll actually get your money back or not because their system "sometimes" just doesn't notify them of orders entirely?
Unless you want to randomly deal with the fact that nobody ever saw your order, never order online from Vics, because the manager readily admitted to me this was a known problem with their online ordering. (I can't even imagine waiting for delivery and having this happen, thankfully I'm outside the delivery coverage area I guess? *rolls eyes)
If you know it's a bug, and it wastes people's time and money, you shouldn't be offering it as a service. Take down your online ordering until no orders are missed because of technological failure, Vics. Shame on you for continuing to have it when this is a known problem, especially when your refund process is such a joke.
Especially when you apparently don't even have the "technology" to allow your managers to refund an item that wasn't ever actually...
Read moreWe usually go to the Capitol Blvd store, but today I was closer to the Division St. one, so dropped in to get a look at the "other" Vic's.
In fairness, it's possible for a "perfect storm" of bad service and improperly made food if you are (un)lucky enough to be in any restaurant at the wrong time... and today was that (un)lucky day.
I placed my order this way: would you please make me a 14" Greener, to go?
The unsmiling cashier asked, "Is that to go?"
(Me, smiling) Yes. To-go.
(note to self, when someone asks me a question right after I gave them the answer, start paying a LOT of attention, because someone in the transaction is not.)
When it was ready the other nonsmiling staff member called out my name; I took my pizza to the car and drove off for home.
I should have looked before leaving because what I got (and apparently was charged for) was a 16" pizza (not a 14") with most of the toppings in an 8" circle right in the middle, and underneath the toppings, as a result, the crust was not cooked; it was basically 8" of semi-raw dough.
So no friendly staff, wrong size pizza, raw dough in the center, most toppings in the center, all discovered too late.
FORTUNATELY the Vic's on Capitol Blvd is lively, friendly -even though busy, -and our pizzas have always been right.
So my recommendation is to skip the Division Street store completely and visit the Capitol Blvd. one. It's smaller, sometimes crowded and loud, but the experience is much better all the way around.
Could be that another visit to this Division Street store would be much more positive ...but I dislike gambling where I've...
Read moreGreetings dear readers, I am an avid pizza fan, with being such a versatile food you can bring forth the kid in you or even the gourmand. With its versatility you can even say the sky's the limit. I've been wowed many times by the creativity some restaurants have portrayed with their creations.
Unfortunately with Vics this is not the case. Their food in every event I have dared their restaurant has left me not wanting more. I can understand the appeal of such a location being a Olympian favorite, However that is only where the restaurant shines is heritage.
If you can stomach their food you may not be able to stomach the staff. I've attempted over a few years to try again and hope it was only a one time occurance however they seem to have a preference of employees that are unable to focus past the glazed look on their eyes. Their professionalism lacks even for a Pizza restaurant. Perhaps they should focus more on baking the pizzas versus themselves.
Cleanliness is about what you would expect. The tables are clean and not much for dust so they have that going for them. However the walls were dirty like no one had washed them in many days if ever. While dining room cleanliness is never the biggest gripe of mine, for some places can be dirty yet charming. This location is not however, it gives me the same energy as a grimy worker who just wants to go home.
Price wise as well Is rather steep for mediocre slices. At just about 5 dollars a slice I would scoff at the oppurtunity to do that again.
All in all, an Olympian favorite but not mine, take from that what you will reader, I shall not...
