When I first passed by the location, I never thought that it will have such affordable and yummy foods nor do I even know that the owner of the restaurant was Vietnamese. I just look at the front door menu and I found that many of the restaurant menus costs almost $10 for a meal at least. So I didn't come by. However, I found i was wrong. I took a second look at the restaurant and found the lunch special menu and decided to walk in to get a bite to eat. But man, the first entry was very good and addicting, the Egg Noodle with Wonton. Then I go for the Mom's Fried Rice and it got to the point that I want to order more. However, because the food is so good that I have to call myself a stop before I overeat and I end up not only eating $17 worth of food but also tip the restaurant additional money. I found that I came back and want to try again and again because the spice was not only tasty, but also the food was affordable in comparison to many other places. Furthermore, if I am a Vietnamese that speaks Vietnamese, I would get a discount from the owners and the people there. Thus, this is a very good experience. Overall,I highly recommend this place to anyone that is Vietnamese. It will make you...
Read moreIf you are searching for amazing Thai food, look no further... the food has been absolutely delicious every time I've ordered from Basil Leaf Restaurant. One of my favorite dishes is #10, TomKah. This coconut milk based soup includes a protein (I prefer chicken), mushroom, onion, and tomatos with superb flavors. Lime leaf, lemongrass, and galangal (a root similar to ginger) add the perfect blend of flavor. For those who haven't tried this soup, you can remove these as they are there to add flavor rather than consume, like a bay leaf. It is served with rice on the side, which I recommend adding to your soup bowl to soak up some of the broth. The noodle dishes #36, Pad Thai, and #39, Rama Noodle, are perfect. I order a side of peanut sauce to go with either of these dishes. All of the curries are delicious...try the Avocado Curry! Yum. The stir-fry #26, Pad Ped Thai Eggplant, is also amazing. As with most dishes you will choose a protein; tofu, chicken, beef, or pork. You can substitute prawns, calamari, or scallops for $2.50, or a seafood combo for $3.50. I know this is long, but if you've read to here, I hope you have found it helpful. You won't be disappointed...
Read moreThis used to me one of my favorite spots, but they doubled the price of a lot of there foods, and put less product in there food. I ordered a seafood curry avocado, I go here purely for the avocado curry, they put barley any seafood in it, and I paid over 14 bucks for this food and it wasn’t even delivered to me. Then my friend ordered a pad se ew, sorry for spelling, expecting the dish to have some veggies in it, there was only three pieces of broccoli, and like for slices of carrots, the rest was just noodles. If your gonna charge this much for food, there needs to be quantity and quality. This was the most expensive meal iv bought from them ever and the dishes didn’t even come close to what we paid for. I understand it’s hard times, but if you all are gonna double the price your dishes you need to be sure you upholding your traditional dishes and not skipping out on quantity, or else this gonna out of business. And on top of all that you expect a tip? This was not even tip worthy food. And we have a good tip. It’s actually...
