Westside Tavern on Harrison serves up a burger-tastic creation that keeps me coming back. On my recent visit, Erica and Carolyn's warm welcome and menu-savvy banter set the convivial tone. Erica, a veritable beverage psychic, guided me through an impressive non-alcoholic selection to a crisp Heineken Zero. The star arrived: a rectangular half-pound burger, a meaty monolith atop a hoagie throne. This hand-packed, locally-sourced marvel demanded reverence, even in my substantial 6'4" grasp. Its crisp, irregular edges promised a texture ping-ponging between tender and toothsome. At my request, it came doubled-up: crunchettuce cooling the steamy beef, sharpions slicing through richness, and pickles lending vinegary zing to counter the umami depths. The sturdy, golden-hued roll valiantly wrangled its overstuffed innards, its chew a tactile tango with the succulent interior. Jebediah, the kitchen sorcerer, emerged as I savored this palate-boggling medley. Each bite attested to his fresh-ingredient devotion, flanked by a hillock of satisfyingly crunchy fries. This wasn't just a meal; it was an edible epiphany that had me burger-losophizing about the tyranny of circular patties. Westside Tavern doesn't just serve food; it redefines satisfaction.

Ordered fish tacos, Pavo fries, grilled chicken salad, west side nachos, & a burger. I got 2 fish tacos in my order that honestly did not taste good at all, the fish was over done and flavorless. They also forgot to add the fries on the order. The chicken was not at all “grilled” more like pan fried or microwaved. The nachos barely had any toppings on it and also had burnt chips. And the burger was also mediocre good enough to fill your hunger but not for 15$. I’m confused with all the good reviews on this restaurant. Each item was 15$ plus and there’s nothing I hate more than spending money on bad food. I’m sure the service is great in person but if u go for the food it’s not worth it specially for the price.

I am sometimes hesitant to order a salad at a bar, but I must say the crispy chicken salad was 10/10. I’m not a huge mustard fan but their house made honey mustard dressing was delicious and complimented the salad perfectly. The hubby got a the slayer burger and was also very pleased. I like that they put the pickles on the side. Fries are delicious! Tried the cordon blue balls too, they’re good. Good vibes and big projector for watching sports and things. Nice outside seating area. Great beer selection. Very nice staff and quick service. Will definitely stop here again!

Came here after work with my coworker and was treated very poorly by the staff. We ordered our drinks, asked for a menu and stood outside in the smoke area to decide what we wanted to eat. The whole time we were chatting outside, we got stared down by the bartender and regulars that were inside. After a few minutes, a very drunk woman came outside and asked what we were doing and why we were standing there. She yelled at us saying she works there and continued asking why we were there. My coworker said “Are we doing anything wrong?” and her response was “Do you think you’re doing something wrong?” we were confused and barely finished our drinks then left. Inside was pretty so that’s what the 1 star is for.

Update: Hi, thank you for your response and concerns about my experience there.

I do not remember exactly how the woman looked but she was a shorter white woman with blonde hair & a small build. Another regular from the table came out shortly after she finally left us alone and he fold us she didn’t work here, and “not to mind her because she was just drunk”. He was not problematic and we chatted for a bit. If we did come in right before close, I apologize. But it’s odd that the bartender couldn’t have just said that instead of giving us a menu. We were inside for a good 10 minutes and outside for 20 minutes AT LEAST before she started picking things up. Like, i said though, it would have been more reasonable to kindly tell us “Hey, we’re closing soon.. I’ll still put in your order but just letting you know.” instead of giving us rude looks and talking about us to the regulars. We would have either made a quick decision on what we wanted or finish our drinks and find another spot to grab food from.. My coworker and i are both closers and work in food service, so we understand just wanting to close and go home. This however, was a very unprofessional, unwelcoming and uncomfortable experience for us.

The menu items actually look pretty good and i would want to give you guys a second chance, but not if things like this happen on a...

I'm sharing this rating/review because the place needs called out for the following.....

I walked in to get a takeout CAN of beer from a side fridge, no server giving service, no dishes used, no table taken....and I got charged $9 for the beer, plus tax. $9 for a closed can of beer?? Nothing fancy mind you...a 16oz. IPA from Silver Moon or the like...run of the mill.

This is screwed up...and yes, I absolutely should have walked out instead of buying it, and even leaving a generous tip (on top of the $9 plus tax) for the nice woman ringing up the robbery sale--cuz I'm a decent customer person--and because I assume she didn't set the price.

But I didn't....and sure am sorry now, cuz when I realized I could have gone across the street to Vic's and been served a quality IPA in a pint glass for $4, after having tasted my way to the selection I made (Vic's we love you, and love your community spirit and the way you do business---so awesome!!), I was even more perplexed how a can of beer could warrant a $9 price tag ANYWHERE.

I did share with said bartender my utter surprise at the cost and let the transaction go through, but I didn't fully register the shock until afterwards....and then it just made me mad. It's creepy, folx.

Especially for a friendly neighborhood community place...not one who should be acting like we're captured customers of some corporate Aramark frigging sporting event.

TOTAL bad faith from my perspective. I sorta wonder if they're trying to capitalize on the lovely park next door which has events (maybe you DO see it as clientele capture?)...but it's the last time I'll meet friends or walk...

My coworkers and I (party of 5) were looking for a spot to eat lunch with a chill atmosphere and outdoor seating to accommodate a dog. We arrived at noon planning to eat over our lunch hour (noon to one). We checked in at the bar and ordered drinks. We tried to order food at the same time, but were told the server would come take our food orders. We sat down and waited 15 minutes for the server to take our orders. At 12:45 when our food had still not arrived, one of the members of our party went inside asking if we could take our orders to go as we had to return to the office. The server simply walked away without any acknowledgement. 10 minutes later she brought out our checks and told us that in the future, we should call in advance. Again, we were only a party of five. The restaurant was not busy, and no other patrons entered during the entire time we were there. Shortly after, we finally received our credit cards back prior to receiving any of the food we ordered. At 1:10, all of us finally received our food. I will say that there were appropriate accommodations for dogs, however, the service was nonexistent. We did not receive any water, any offers to refill our drinks, or any apology for the hour it took to receive our food. We left with our to go boxes and returned to the office, where we ate our meals at our desks as we simply could not return within the lunch hour. Would not return and do not recommend,...
