Don't order takeout
The food was good - the customer service for getting takeout was horrible. I ordered an online takeout on Saturday morning and was told to pickup at 10:50AM. I arrived to the store exactly at 10:50AM. I told the hostess my name and was told that my order wasn't ready yet, but they would bring it out to me when ready. That's fine - I understand restaurants can run behind, but there is no excuse for what happened next.
I overheard the male host telling a DoorDash Driver (whom he seemed chummy with) that their computer was down and they were having to do orders by hand. It would have been nice to hear that information first-hand, especially since I had to wait 20 minutes for my food.
I waited the 20 minutes nonetheless. At one point, the same male host asked for my name and for the 2nd time, I informed the restaurant who I was. At approximately 11:10AM, the original female hostess (who knew my name) brought out the food, announced it was for "Patrick" and sat it on a ledge behind the host stand before disappearing to God-knows-where.
I approached the host stand. I was completely ignored by the male host, as he waived 2 customers up to the counter (past me). I asked "is that my food on the ledge?" To which he replied, "I don't know." I asked him again, "Can I get my food?" To which he asked another hostess, "whose food is that?" She told him "Patrick's." He shrugged, and continued to interact with the other customer! Admittedly, this infuriated me, and I told him - "It would be nice to not be ignored. I have told you three times that my name is Patrick. I don't know how many times I have to tell you that. Can I have my food that I have been waiting 20 minutes for?"
At that point, he finally gave me my food! If a customer is waiting on their order for 20+ minutes past the point it was supposed to be ready - you should bring it out directly to them with a huge apology! As it was - the food was dropped off on a counter and the host acted like I was the problem for wanting to get my food within a reasonable timeframe after a 20 minute late. Perhaps if you weren't yucking it up with your DoorDash buddy, you could focus on your...
Read moreMy Love and I eat at First Watch at least once a week for about the last year, it was the price and staff is why we eat there. We have tried at least four different places before finding and settling on First Watch. We eat the same dishes each week and they taste so great every time we eat there. The staff know us by name and they are so happy to see us and we love talking to them because they are so friendly. They fill like family. I have seen one person to groups over 10 come and all are served with the great service we get. The food taste like home made every time. The water taste so good my Love will drink 32 ounces at the meal. the table are always clean when we come in. The longest time we had to wait for a booth was 10 minutes. I think we have meet all the staff that work there and all are great to talk to. We have left overs which we take home and eat later or the next day and they still taste great. I am so glad it is a non-smoking place. Jenah was our waitress who we know by name and face served us and did a great job. Heidi the Operation Manager comes and talk to us and we love talking to her. Martin the General Manager came by and talked us because we like to talk to him. He does a great with staff and customer alike the place runs so good. Even with the place is full you can still hear the person across the table from you. Doug who works the check out does a great job of helping people get there bills paid as well as seating people. What keeps us coming back is the great of the food, the great service from the staff and the prices are great to. I HIGHLY recommend to any one. It is great all around 10 out...
Read moreUnique breakfast/brunch spot in West Omaha. First Watch - Center in Omaha is a great breakfast, brunch, and lunch choice for West Omaha. It can be a little hard to find the first time, but it sits right off the corner of Center and 168th St, on the corner with the more prominent Centris Federal Credit Union and Jensen Tire and Auto. There is ample parking. There are a good variety of seating configurations to serve up to large groups. I’ve eaten at other First Watch locations in the Omaha area, so I was happy to see this one on the south side of Dodge in West Omaha, closer to where I live. Like other First Watch locations, I found the service at First Watch - Center to be professional and efficient with a mix of seasoned and newer staff. The menu, which includes calorie counts, is interesting and diverse including usual and unique egg-based dishes, griddle offerings, power bowls, salads, sandwiches, and drinks including juice concoctions. The restaurant operations are generally efficient, clean, and organized. The waffle was especially light and fluffy, the turkey sausage was exceptionally tasty, the gravy and biscuits were terrific, and the eggs were perfect. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the food; overall, I give this restaurant a good rating for value. I recommend First Watch - Center as one good option for breakfast...
