I want to first and most importantly say- this place is unlike any other dining experience I’ve ever had. I was on vacation and ended up eating here twice in the same day because I had such an amazing experience. The lunch menu is amazing and so unique, the staff is personable and will accommodate you with menu questions and suggestions, and the ambiance is beautiful and comfortable both day and night. I was so happy with my lunch experience with our server, Abraham, that I had to come back for dinner. Abraham personally booked us a special menu selection for dinner after a discussion about their dinner menu and how I loved my time here. At dinner, I was just as surprised and amazed. I am not exaggerating when I say this: I can confidently say the best steak I have ever had was here. Another fact I really enjoy about DANTE is everything is farm to table. My beautiful steak grew up about 100 mi away and never left Nebraska. Everything is made by the staff, which I love. I find it amazing that the head chef and the staff work so diligently to present inventive and astronomical quality food with all local produce and product, even the strawberries on the cheesecake are local. They spare no expense on providing their patrons the best and freshest produce Nebraska has to offer. Another of my favorite things you need to try- it’s simple but their lemonade is made by hand, and it again, will probably be the best lemonade you’ll ever have. I, a month and some change later, am still daydreaming about my time spent with the amazing people that make up the staff of DANTE. I implore you to take friends, family, and colleagues here for an experience you’ll never forget. The only regrets I have here is not being able to have the ravioli in full (I got a sample and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD, you have to try it) and not being able to get the course meal (I left before it became available and legitimately thought about coming back just for it). I felt like I got absolutely spoiled by everyone that served us that day and I witnessed them treat everyone else just as indulgently. When you come to DANTE they will do anything within their ability to create an unforgettable experience unique to you and your party. I love the energy and values this place holds. Please give it a chance and make it your favorite. You will find a...
Read moreOne of the best brunches I've ever had and it's gon a take a lot to beat it. Everything was superb and if I could give more than 5 stars I would. The owner/head chef started out by explaining most of the menu to us and offered if the bartender/sommelier could explain any of drinks we just needed to ask. Well we didn't have to and he did an excellent job of working his way around the whole menu. I'm not sure we could've had a better wait staff. There was a group of 9 of us and we all left very satisfied.
The highlight of the brunch menu was their 12 oz NE buffalo ribeye with hollandaise, crispy potatoes, and 2 eggs. Came out to $30 for the plate and was more than enough to feed the most burliest of men. All of the ingredients were fresh and cooked to perfection. Everyone at the table got something different for the most part and were extremely satisfied. With the big table we had, the head chef gave us a plate of charred romaine lettuce to share and I wasn't expecting much but it had exquisite flavor with just enough seasoning to not hide the natural flavors.
The brunch drinks started off typical (mimosa and bloody Mary) then jumped to their own take using Italian ingredients. The boozy shakereto and wake me up before you go go were a great way to help get you thru the day. With this being their second week of doing their seperate brunch menu, it seemed like they were naturals with how it operated. To also go with their brunch drinks, they offered bottomless coffee for $4 which hit the spot.
Their menu ranged from classics like eggs benedict, spinach and ricotta omelet, croque (madame), and a take on bagels and lox. With reasonable prices and excellent choices it was hard deciding on what to eat. We were all stuffed by the end of it, but decided to split a couple of desserts (pistachio cheesecake and pistachio gelato) all of which were house made.
There is a lot more I could go into description with each plate, but I'll just let the pictures speak...
Read moreAbsolutely AMAZING! Every time I've dined at this establishment, my mouth has said "thank you baby Jesus" the food is delectable! The pizzas are cooked at over 800 degrees in 90 seconds and the resulting pie tastes amazing and authentic. All of the ingredients are sourced from local farms and chef Nick created his own Pork cuts and slowly aged meats to create dishes that truly inspire the carnivore in everyone. The mussels are spicy and meaty, floating in a broth of spicy garlic wine sauce with slow-aged Pork and a side of buttered bread. The meat tray was served with an assortment of aged meats, a fresh ball of mozzarella and a side of lightly dressed arugula that was simply too good to be true. My main dish, a carrot ravioli drenched in a raspberry reduction with a tender cut of pork cheek topped with pistachios, literally melted in my mouth. And the desert!?!?! They recently just acquired a gelato machine and had a strawberry cheesecake gelato that was insanely good!
I took the time to go through the reviews below to see why anyone would give this restaurant less than five stars; the common theme is that the food is "burnt" on the edges. I'm sorry, but I don't think these people have ever really had a Napoleon style pizza and maybe aren't accustomed to how they are cooked. 90 seconds at 800 degrees is just enough to lightly char the Pizza and add the distinct flavor that makes this restaurant a unique gem. Absolutely one of the best placed to eat in Omaha, hands down. Do yourself a favor and go try it out RIGHT NOW! I can assure you that you will be back for more!! Wow, awesome job on everything guys!!! Especially...
