Revisiting covid19: The menu has changed a bit and I updated my review to remove the items no longer offered.

The workers all wore masks and there's a hand sanitizer area with many smaller bottles to choose from. There are barely any tables inside so I felt very safe inside.

The Mary Jane has a very thick broth. My sister liked it a lot because it's not as salty. Often some restaurants use excessive salt or msg to bring out the flavor of the soup.

The beef udon is more like a soy broth. It's not thick. Very flavorful but quite salty. Good for those who want a huge burst of flavor.

Between the Mary Jane and udon we felt there was a lot more ramen in the Mary Jane. So if you are starting I might recommend you go with ramen.

Grilled scallop was a 5 🌟 . 3 medium pieces that are grilled in a tasty vinaigrette. We were trying to figure out what the eggplant chips were. They didn't taste like that much but added a nice texture. So if you don't like eggplant you might still be ok with this

Previous review: Not the easiest to find place. People had mentioned it's in an alley, and that was the correct term. It looked a bit sketchy walking up the alley but when we saw the neon sign, we were more comfortable. The food was very good. We did the steam buns -favorite out of the apps. The pork is balanced nicely by the pickled sweet vinegared vegetables. Spicy tuna tots - more similar to the sushi pizza back home. Not what I was expecting. It was good, but my other dining companions really liked it.

Happy hour starts at 3 or 330pm. All small plates except for 2 are $4. That makes the calamari and the tako skewers your best buy. At that price both are worthwhile. On my second visit I did the shoyu ramen. It was very enjoyable. The price point is a bit high but I didn't detect excessive amounts of msg like some of their competitors. The poke bowl was ok, but at that price point I'd rather...

Came here at 4:50pm on a Sunday to get some food with my fiance and another couple we are friends with. My fiance works at 7pm so we thought it would be plenty of time to eat.. almost two hours right?

We had our drinks and food ordered within 15 minutes of being there which was great! A couple of appetizers and some ramen.

We sat and waiting for 45 minutes before finally seeing our server again. I asked how much longer for our food out of respect and said my fiance worked at 7. He looked at me, shrugged his shoulders, and said “no clue man. If I had that answer I’d tell you” and continued on.

Another 30 minutes go by and at this point we’ve seen 5 different groups get up and leave because they have been waiting so long. One couple got their food, didn’t see there server for another 20 minutes so they could tell them they didn’t even bring out the right order.

At this point it’s 6:20 and we still have not even received our appetizers. I asked again and said not trying to be rude but we’ve been waiting well over an hour for our food and he said he was gonna go ask and check on it. Disappears for another 10 or so minutes.

FINALLY the food comes out and we had to get the check and boxes right away as my fiance works. We weren’t expecting two hours after ordering to get our food. $65 is what the bill for my fiance and I was with two bowls of ramen and edamame.

The best part about this whole situation was when we got home, orders were wrong/missing things, and the noodles weren’t even fully cooked.

Will definitely NOT be coming back nor recommending anyone here.

Wait time is one thing,...

We have eaten here numerous times with our younger kids and have never had an issue but for some reason tonight came with a different attitude. We went in early (5pm) hoping to get in and out and not be too much of a nuisance with kids. We have a 10yo, 5yo and toddler which still sits in a high chair. When we told the hostess we had 4 and a high chair she said she had no where to seat us for at least 30-40 minutes. I asked about 2 of the open tables behind her and if we could pull a high chair up and she was visibly irritated and said it was fine. Our waitress was awesome and super helpful. I never expect special service just because we have kids but she seemed to sense we were stressed and made the little things simple. Twice, food was delivered to our table that was not ordered, both set down in front of the toddler and both were spicy dishes. When I gave the spicy edamame back to the same hostess that delivered it, she was again visibly irritated and handed to the table Next to us. Now I’m on high alert and stressed because I know they don’t want us there so I’m trying to move things along but everything is going wrong (spilling, tears, not eating etc.). It was a miserable dining experience all around because no one wants to be somewhere where you know you’re not welcome. I understand kids are a pain in the butt… BELIEVE ME I understand that, but having children is essential to continuance of the world so I should not be punished for making such life choices. We love the ramen so we will be back, but I will never bring my...

Summary: apparently all the money has been invested in making the place look pretty, with little left over to actually make the food taste good. The food appears to be what the menu calls it in name only. It goes to show that you can name a dish anything you want, and it barely requires a passing semblance to it. While the visual aesthetic of the restaurant was interesting, and the staff attentive, it was hard to hear them say anything over the loud pounding music. As a matter of fact, when I walked in, I couldn't even hear the host come up behind me and ask if I'd like to be seated. The rice in the "oyakudonburi" was undercooked and crunchy, in the entirety of it was covered in a spicy mayo that made it oily and unpleasant. The flavor was all muddled up, and it was a bit of a chore to eat (I say "eat", but I mean consume for the sake of sustenance, not pleasure). The "yakitori" consisted of small, flaccid pieces of chicken with no flavor of their own. A sweet American style teriyaki sauce was drizzled all over it and the water logged pieces of green onion it rested on. One has to wonder how many days ago those onions were prepared. These kinds of skewers are supposed to be grilled, however there was no texture or char marks to indicate that the meat had been cooked that way. I'm sure there's a segment of the population that will find this place enjoyable, but I cannot in good conscience recommend this to anybody I know. The staff seemed kind enough though, so I can't say that it was all together a terrible experience.

Placed an online curbside pickup order for 9:45pm on 9/19/20 and got the Miso Ramen, Kimchi Ramen, and the Gyoza Dumplings. Even though the website said 9:45 for pickup, the email confirmation I received said the food would be ready at 10:15. Not knowing what time this place closed (website says midnight, Google says 9pm, Facebook & Yelp say 1am), we decided to just show up at 10:15. Found out from the very curt employee who handed us our food that they actually closed at 10pm "for next time". 1.) There was absolutely no need to remind us of that (???) and 2.) My email said 10:15, how were we supposed to know? If there was an error with the system that does their online orders, cool, whatever. Now the real problem lies with our food. It was COLD as soon as it was handed to us. Hardly any heat at all to it. Our Ramen had literally no broth in it. NONE, as you can see in the pictures. They were plain noodles stuck together. We got no utensils, no napkins - was lucky to get some at a nearby fast food joint. The pickup encounter, the no utensils, even the cold food I could deal with to a point, but add in the no broth part? Nope. Made the experience awful and couldn't even eat the food we bought. Don't recommend.
