Initial impression - cold and unwelcoming front desk agent. When making a reservation I asked for highest floor room available (which is an option on your site when booking direct), I was given 3rd floor out of 10. Here is where the real frustration came into play after a long day of driving in inclement weather. It took 4 sets of key cards before I was a given a set that worked. Up and down to the front desk, up and down to front desk, up and down to the front desk asking for cards that would work to our room. Finally on the 3rd set, I asked "does this say 303 on the card holder?" Ohhh, I wrote the wrong room number you're supposed to be in 305! Rrrrr. Then I get cards to 305 for which the lock is dead and won't register a card at all. Ugghh, so then another set made and back to room 303. The room was grossly dirty, no dust ruffle on the bed just dirty box springs hanging out. The toilet floor had not been mopped and I could see what I'm telling myself was only coffee spill splatters all over the floor. The tub and shower walls were disgusting with smears all over. I have pictures of everything. Gaps at bottom and sides of room door that were so big I could fit my Large size man hands through. We had a connecting room which was terrible for noise. I could hear the guy next door hocking up phlegm all night, his toilet sounds like it's flushing in your own room every 30 minutes, TV was blaring til 4am, for which I asked the front desk to please ask him to turn it down at 3AM so I could sleep. It only took 1 hour for that to happen. So we got about 3 hours of sleep on a vacation night away from my 2 and 5yr olds. I requested to move rooms the next morning, with a different agent that also seemed to not give the slightest about having yet another terrible experience at her facility. Her response, I'll add a couple points to your account. Umm, your points aren't needed in the future, I'm sure of it. So we packed everything up and moved up to the 10th floor this time, like I originally requested when booking. Btw, the hotel not was even close to capacity as the parking lot was maybe a 1/4 full. My wife is the business traveler and she later informed me that Courtyards are not "really a Marriott". I should have spent the extra $25 a night a stayed a block over at the Marriott, or let her book our hotel. Very un-pleased with the entire situation from the start. Wont not recommend unless every single vacation dollar counts. I will be posting this...
Read moreMy disappointment came after I found that this hotel does not have a pool, even though when booking through hotels.com, a big, nice, clean pool is the first picture that pops up. That's ok, I can handle the lack of pool. I called the hotel to make sure our room would come with a couch sleeper. I was assured that the note was made to our account and that we would receive a room with an couch. So imagine my surprise when we walked into the room and there was 2 beds and a small chair. The chair also had a card and trash under the seat, so obviously not cleaned. No worries, we didn't intend to spend much time in the room as we were in Omaha to explore. The package we purchased for the room came with free breakfast for 2 kids and 2 adults. When we went for breakfast Sunday am the man working the Bistro was incredibly rude and insisted they did not offer breakfast. My family and I had to move to the back of the line until he was able to communicate via yelling to the front desk associates. When I made it back to the register to order I was handed a receipt for $54 to sign. Although was assured I was not responsible for the amount. (Luckily I was never charged, but at the time was concerned since they lacked organization and communication.) Overall the hotel room was outdated, small, and like I stated above, did not come with the couch we were promised. To top off the experience, we left our phone charger in the room. When my boyfriend initially called housekeeping the lady told him there was nothing left in the room. I knew this was a lie. I called her back and let her know exactly where we left it plugged in. She then states that yes she did have it but my boyfriend did not describe the looks of the charger correctly to her and that's why she said it wasn't there. A phone charger is a phone charger. That was a lie she told intending to keep out Apple phone charger! The hotel claims they are a 4star however I have stayed in plenty of 2 stars that offered better service and more accommodations. Don't waste your money at this hotel. There are plenty others...
Read moreWe had a pretty bad experience staying here, mostly because of one unpleasant front desk woman. We booked here because it offered a shuttle to and from the music festival we were attending. I called the day before to inquire about early check-in so we could make it to the show for the 1:30pm start time. The lady was so friendly and said it's probably no problem, I just needed to call first thing in the morning.
I called first thing in the morning and the lady was really rude, acting like I was asking for something that was so inconvenient for her.
When we arrived at the hotel, said our room wasn't ready and kinda laughed at us when we asked about checking in early. I asked if she could take down my phone number and give us a call when it was ready. We got ready in the bathroom and checked our bags at the front desk. She again made it clear it was a big inconvenience to hold our bags while we grabbed lunch.
A couple hours later, we decided to call the hotel from my friends phone and ask about early check-in. She said our room wasn't ready and it was too late to put it on the expedite list for housekeeping.
I got kind of frustrated at that point and asked why our room wasn't on the expedite list as I called the night before, morning of and in-person. She got defensive.
About 2 minutes later, she called back to let us know the room was ready. When we went back to check-in, she barely said a word and was incredibly unpleasant.
Then we got to our room and found everything damp. The bed, sheets, couch, floor, everything.
The next morning we went down to get the breakfast that was included with my stay because I paid upfront. It was the same rude lady from the day before and she insisted we weren't on her list. I had to sit down for 5 minutes to find my reservation on my phone to prove it to her. She treated us like we were trying to cheat them out of breakfast.
We decided not to let it get us down. We had a blast and slept in damp sheets. This experience made me never want to stay at a marriott again. That lady should never have a front of...
