Great Indian food located in central Omaha. Hungry for great Indian food take-out in Omaha? Then, consider The Jaipur; this review focuses on the take-out aspects of the restaurant. The Jaipur web site includes the capability to order on-line; this is a very nice feature, and the app for ordering off the ample menu works very well. The Jaipur is centrally located in Omaha, in the Rockbrook area, conveniently off the highway spur that connects 80 and 680 and near the Dodge and 680 intersection. The menu covers the waterfront of Indian food staples and is very temping. The payment in the restaurant was quick and the packaging exceptional. The Jaipur did a great job of packaging all the individual items in containers fit for those items and placed all the containers in a sturdy paper sack. I was especially impressed with the packaging of the Tandoori Chicken in multiple layers of foil then slipped into a heat pouch. All our items were fresh and at the right temperatures when we got our items home. The Tandoori Chicken was perfectly cooked with a great grilled flavor and just a bit spicy. The Lamb Vindaloo was extremely good although the lamb could have been a bit more tender. The Naan and rice were very tasty; we especially liked the flavor and consistency of the rice. The condiments were perfect additions to the meal. The prices are decent but a bit high; overall, I give The Jaipur a good value rating on Indian takeout for the perfection of the packaging, ample menu, tasty Indian foods, centrally convenient location, and decent prices. Recommended for anyone in the Omaha area who has an Indian...

Carrot lentil soup? 4 stars Flavored much better
Spinach dip 4.5 The bread was nice and crispy. The spinach was served piping hot.
Protein thali 4.5 stars Very solid offering. The vegetables were roasted and flavored well. Our favorite was the mint chutney that went with everything
Non veg thali 3.5-4 stars The chicken korma wasn't as flavorful as I would have liked. The lamb was my favorite. Between the vegetable and potato, the lentils and the pickled veggie I wasn't that much of a fan. The yogurt was fine. The rice pudding dessert was better than expected.
Kulfi 3.5 Mango was very icy and not very creamy. The pistachio is real pistachio (not extract), but it's gritty and still not that creamy because there's a lack of milk. Between the two the pistachio is the better pick for me as it has more substance and is a harder thing to find. It's easier to find a good mango ice cream.
I do find the pricing a little on the high end. The quality was very good though for the most part. The service was attentive, friendly and helpful.
The decor was warm. The chairs are a mix. Nicer ones border the room with the cheaper looking ones in the middle of the room.
I would get the protein thali again but would rather order individual dishes for the non veg thali. The variety is nice in both cases.
Parking is shared with many businesses in the area in a medium sized lot. We did not have an issue on this Thursday...
Read moreMost Racist Indian restaurant I have ever been. If u wanna make insult of yourself go over there.
They like to serve only American people.
I have been to many Indian or any kind of restaurant in Texas, Illinois, Georgia, Alabama, NM etc but never felt so badly treated.
After work came to restaurant around 5:45pm today 09/08/2016. Their happy hour was till 6pm. I have no idea as I just moved in new in the town. I order what I felt palatable for me. Even before I have entered, water was already served. She never asked what kind of water or any drinks u want. I thought they have regular stuff but later I found they have nice mocktails. Server never bothered to ask even. Now when I was waiting for food then I heard in the other table another server was explaining about Happy Hours- what they have specials during that time. Now I started looking for the server then when I told her what I want, she said it's already 6:05pm but my watch says 5:58pm. I didn't want to be so much cheap but told her when she came with the food that you supposed to explain what u have. But the server has the guts to tell me that generally Indian people knows what they want.
It is important for their management to train people and explain that All people are same when it comes to Hospitality Business. Whatever negative reservations you have against your fellow countrymen, one should never show.
This is so wrong!!! I never felt so disgusted...
