Javi himself has extremely poor customer service, I’m extremely surprised he has what it appears to be a thriving business... After waiting over 2 weeks for Javi to even get back to me 🙄 In brief, I ordered at one of their food trucks at a concert a couple weeks ago and not only did they give me the wrong order, they gave me DAIRY after specifically stating that I CANNOT eat dairy! I get terrible inflammation eating dairy that’s extremely painful!! After Javi finally called me weeks later, obviously I’m annoyed and all he did was refund my order and I lose the rest of my voucher for tacos at the concert and didn’t even get to enjoy any tacos! And he completely dismissed the fact that his staff gave me dairy and made excuses claiming no way they are a dairy free establishment either way due to cross contamination. I know my body but thanks for your non supportive and non helpful words today! And thank you so much Javi for resolving by telling me you can’t do anything about customer complaints otherwise you’ll always be doing things for them?! What???? I said a refund & Birria Platter would suffice at minimum even after everything and he said nope one or the other. You can’t be serious!! You got it Javi! Took my refund and taking my business elsewhere! “Sorry you feel that way,” says Javi.
Update:
Javi is now harassing me since this review! Calling me a liar and sending me a video the night of my order claiming his worker didn’t give me dairy and that I ordered the burrito that I got but my RECEIPT clearly maths and shows I bought BIRRIA TACOS NOT BURRITO as burrito is also cheaper! (Plus $8 taco voucher) I walked away confused with a burrito then next day checked prices that the tacos I paid for are more expensive so yes give me what I paid for then also a refund for giving me dairy! Yes he did give me dairy! This guy has wasted more time being rude than to actually take responsibility and be constructive about the situation! Stop...
Read moreWe felt humiliated by an employee. After enjoying the food we won't back.
We ate there in the evening 12/05. We drove in from out of state to see our dying family member staying the hospital nearby.
We ordered our food. The menu is very confusing. It spans above the whole section top of the food toppings, and there's another section in the wall next to it. It's hard to read, especially when it's your first time.
The young man taking our order was kind. My mom enjoyed the street tacos. She was a little hungry after the tacos and decided to order more food. She thought my nachos looked good, but she didn't want a huge order.
She went back to there and didn't see the sides menu so she ordered the kids nacho to get a smaller side. My mom already paid, and was waiting when another women came out and said " It's our policy to not sell adults kid menu items. If you come back we will not make you that."
Had my mom seen the sides she would have ordered that. Had she been told while ordering that she can't order that we wouldn't be upset. It's after she paid and was waiting that another employee confronted her. At that point that employee should have addressed the carrier privately and says here is how you handle it next time rather than approaching my mom who had already paid and had already ordered and paid for another item previously.
We have family here and always eat out when we stay here. We were here under terrible circumstances, but your employee doesn't have to worry about us, we...
Read moreInflated Google reviews claim yet another victim. I'm only disappointed in myself for being optimistic that this place might actually have decent food. If you're here for the TLDR version here it is - there is a chain that rhymes with Chip-Goat-Lay that does it better for less. I'm not one to recommend a chain, and really, I'm not. What I'm saying is that if you're thinking about Javi's you should instead walk, no run, to the chain and go home slightly satisfied.
The pictures say it all. One is our shrimp Javi's taco the way it comes. $1 upcharge for 2 rubberized shrimp. The tortillas won't hold up to their own weight, even doubled up. And the few toppings they have aren't fresh and taste like garbage.
Another picture is the Javi's taco as seen after one bite, falling apart.
Our bill was $61 after 20% tip. 6 tacos and a burrito combo. The combo... laughable! You get a side of rice and beans and a drink. The charro beans were disgusting. I've never seen charro beans with sliced hot dog in them but hey, I'm from Texas so my Midwest "Mexican" experience is limited.
This place is a complete joke. Save your money and go...
