Though I work in the area, hadn't ever been here before. Tried reviewing the menu online but it really doesn't explain if there are drinks and what the options are. Tried to put a to go order in online (via Doordash, which I really don't like) but the options and prices weren't matching at all. I wanted a mini box with the waffle sandwich, tots, and hopefully a coffee. Price for a waffle sandwich and tots was more that $6 more than a box and didn't seem to come with a drink though the mini box was not an option. So I called to place an order and the customer service was lack luster. I said I wanted a mini box "k" (silence) is it possible to do the waffle sandwich "sure. Your total will be [...]" Does that come with a side? "Yeah" ok what are my options as I'm not at my desk and can't remember "oh fruit, tots [trails off]" ok I'll do tots "[again quotes me the total]" does it come with a drink? "Yeah" what are your options? Is there coffee? "You are just gonna have to come in and pick" are there coffee options? "We have coffee" I let it go and just hoped it would be good enough good to overcome the lack of communication. I then had to give my card information over the phone which just kinda makes uncomfortable. I know businesses have to make sure they don't get stiffed but it bothers me. Made sure to tip as I know how hard it can be to run a business and I know how hard it can be to be a server. The little things count. Walked down with a coworker who also called in. She shared she got the spicy version of the sandwich and a cinnamon roll. Didn't even know those were options. Got there and the food was ready as promised. Packaged up tidy with silverware. Then I realized for coffee - it's a Keurig. Was kind of hoping at least for a cup of regular brewed coffee and per the usual, the Keurig coffee was weak but we had to wait for her to serve other customers before the Keurig could be refilled with water. So we stood there just kind of in the way trying to outfit our cups with creamer while the new people were trying to also get condiments from the table at our waist. And the food was just not very good. It reminded me of Costco waffles with a processed chicken patty that didn't seem seasoned though it looked nice. Maple syrup on the side wouldn't soak into the waffles. The tots were ample and looked great but just didn't taste very good. I know the restaurant industry is struggling but this really just missed the mark. Props on it being timely, packaged up so nice, and the serving size of...
Read morePositives : lots of vegan options . Good pizza . It seems like they have a theme of giving job opportunities to special needs people, that’s really dope , gotta love that. Also . If a mistake is made they work to make it right . (For example , mac and cheese was underwhelming to our 12 year old daughter , the manager/owner recognized and she offered her a free specialty item that she made special for her ) that all great stuff
Negatives : Just to be honest it’s not amazing food , especially the vegan options , not crazy orginal recipes and plenty of pre made prepacked Re-sale type things (for example the vegan chicken and waffles is a toaster waffle and frozen vegan chicken patty) , basic service for the most part (little customer recognition I’m almost 40 now , lol …. most locally owned establishments do a better job of this… ) Like most places these days, common sense isn’t very common.
We’ve gone here as a family often enough with our children , mainly because it has vegan options and easy to get to when you’re downtown. I wouldn’t recommend going out of your way for it or expecting originality in fresh ingredients or culinary expertise. If it’s late night and you need a pizza on a weekend , I’d say enjoy.
Extras :: a cool robot will serve your food. : small portions for entre sizes for vegan replacements like Mac and Cheese .
In conclusion, I won’t be back after today’s experience, as I think about it , it was totally unnecessary for the extra...
Read moreThe place as a whole is just different from ordering the food to how the menu is set up. The food took 22 minutes and they were not busy at all I would say understaffed. Oh but wait they have a Robot that the kitchen lady puts the food on and then it rolls out to your table with the girl working the counter to take the food off the Robot and puts it on the table. What a waster of money and time the food was cold most the waffles did not look like they were naked fresh they were cold to room temp not hot off the waffle iron. The girl working the counter was friendly but couldn’t stay off her phone to texting someone. This place is way over priced and then they charge $2.00 extra for powdered sugar. Already on a meal combo of $14.99
From the looks of the guy carrying a table in maybe the owner/ manager maybe you should focus on business and customer service instead of a 15k dollar robot to but the food on and roll out to customers. After 22 minutes of waiting no one wants rub a robots head like the girl offered.
Also $1.50 fee for not using cash How do you come up with a $1.50 You don’t have a sign or tell the customers there is a fee until I looked at receipt. The girl ask if we were paying cash but didn’t say a word about the fee. Terrible business operation.
Then when you don’t make it you will say what happened? Well you are over priced, food was not good and service was bad. That’s what is what...
