This was my family's second stay at this property in the last month. We like the new property very much but given that the hotel has been around a year, has had time to get its service issues corrected and is expensive both in dollars and points, this experience was poor in the context of what it can be. Our first visit one was good, except the evening housekeeping taking forever issue. The unfriendly valet parking people harass you about parking in the front to check-in -the parking garage is way in the back so where you supposed to park to check in? Got there right at 4 pm check-in time and no suites available -Very consistent with my lifetime platinum elite experience with the Marriott side and very different than the Starwood side which almost always has an upgrade room not only available but I don't have to ask as it is usually set aside for me earlier in the day. Walked into the room and the "hardwood" floor was filthy so I return to desk and asked that it be re-cleaned. The roll-away and extra towels that we requested in the reservation were not there. Went back to the front desk, waited in a long line to ask that these three things be taken care of before I returned several hours later. Came back at 9:30pm, the floor had been swept but still had visible chunks of dirt and fuzz balls on it, roll-away was there but no extra towels. We are a family of four so we need the extra towels but we actually had one less (see next line). This is when we noticed that there was a gross stain on the roll-away sheet and one of the bath towels had a very noticeable large brown stain in it. We knew from that last visit it takes forever for the evening housekeeping people to respond to requests and we were exhausted so we put them aside and left it for the next day. I called the hotel the next day around 3 pm and told them about the disturbing issues and was told all would be taken care of. We got back around 8:30 pm and you guessed it, neither had been taken care of so I again had to go down to the front desk around 9 pm and told them what happened. They apologized and said that I would get points for the multiple issues we had encountered. I was told it would get taken care right away, but of course it was not. I called after an hour to check on it again and they did finally show up at 10:30 pm. The promised points are still not been posted to my account. Come on Marriott, this is a beautiful property, we know you all can do...
Read moreThis hotel is beautiful but unfortunately my stay here was very unpleasant. The hotel staff was very rude to me and my friends and treated us like we didn't belong there. I got a room for 1 night for a mini birthday vacation with 2 friends. When I checked in the woman at the front desk explained to me that I had acess to the concierge lounge and had complimentary breakfast. That night we headed to the hotel bar for a drink before dinner, the bartenders rudely asked for our IDs before even greeting us as if she assumed we were underaged. One margarita was $22 and it was not great. We headed down for breakfast in the morning and ate mediocre self serve buffet breakfast. An employee said we could sit wherever we wanted and grab ourselves a plate so we did. Upon leaving we were approached by a waiter who handed us a check. I explained to him that I was told I had complimentary breakfast. even after I explained that I would talk to the front desk and get vouchers which I didn't know were needed as no one explained that to me, he was still speaking to us in a very condescending tone. He threw the check onto the host stand and rudely told us just to leave. Even if I didnt have complimentary breakfast, there were also no signs explaining that the breakfast cost $20 per person (which is very expensive for the poor quality of the breakfast) How is anyone supposed to know that? I was quite shaken up after this interaction so my friends suggested going to the lounge area to relax and calm down. As we approached the lounge a worker was coming out and said that the lounge was for elite members only. I thanked him and continued and then he asked if I had access to the lounge. I explained that I did indeed have acess to it. He sat and watched me as I unlocked it and told us where things were, but when leaving he made a rude comment about us not making a mess in there. Had we been any other member in that lounge I'm sure wouldn't have said that. We were over all treated like children who weren't allowed to be there and like we didnt fit the demographic of customers they want in their hotel. Im extremely disappointed as I planned on coming back to this hotel with my husband, but after this experience I will not...
Read moreI want to say first that the people working here are all fantastic. Very helpful, friendly, patient; zero complaints about the people.
Everything else is just sort of...meh. In a way a hotel like this shouldn't be meh. Such as the sheets don't actually fit on the bed? The first night the corners popped off. I figured hey, no biggie, I do move a lot, but then I went to remake the bed, and after securing one side, realized the other corner could barely be covered by the sheets. The sheets don't actually fit properly.
The food when ordering room service is great...but not for the price. I'm cool with fine dining, but usually it means the food is at a certain level to match the price. After I ate, I mostly realized the price is over inflated simply because you're ordering within the hotel, it's like paying for the experience, not the actual quality of food. And since so many food options are within walking distance, it truly isn't worth the price.
Speaking of room service, want to find the menu?...me too. Nothing about dining was intuitive at all. Hours, food offered, location, menu - you're much better off calling to ask, because it isn't obviously stated in the tv menu whatsoever. Under room service on the tv, it says you can access the menu on "this guide." Then you play a guessing game which restaurant provides the room service...then when you get there at last, you need to scan the QR code. Just felt like the place is trying too hard to be tech savvy than tech friendly.
The air conditioner is sadly fairly subpar as well. It was set to 70, I lowered it to 65 around 3pm Friday when I arrived (I like it cold lol), it was around 75-80 degrees over the weekend, so it wasnt battling massive heat outside, and it marched down to 67 and stayed there.
Lastly there was a bible and book of Mormon in the drawers 🤦♀️🤦♀️ it's freaking 2022, why is this outdated, creepy practice still happening?
Overall not a bad location, but really guests pay FOR the location - walking distance to downtown, restaurants nearby, highway nearby, etc - everything else about this...
