I’m glad this Brazilian steak rodízio is now open in Omaha. Due to it being a new location I am going to give them a bit of a slack as it takes a bit to train employees and I do want them to do well.
We had a reservation for 6 people at 7:30pm on a Saturday. We were in front of the place at 6:30p. It took 30 minutes driving in circles to find a parking spot. If they had a valet service I would’ve definitely used it.
It took roughly 10-15 minutes after our reservation time before we were sat. We were standing, patiently waiting for our table and the lady asked us to move out of the way in case someone wanted to leave, which I thought was strange as we really weren’t in the way and would’ve gladly moved if someone was trying to leave - besides there was just no good place to wait because there were other people waiting in the waiting area and it was way too cold to be outside.
We wanted to order drinks while we waited, but the bar is really small and the few people at the bar made it seem really busy and crowded. Went to the bathroom to kill time and feel a little less out of place. 😅
The lights in the place are really bright and give the place a Chinese buffet vibe - rather than a more classy feel I would’ve preferred. They should really have shut off the bright back lights on top and dimmed the nice lights a bit and the whole place would’ve seemed nicer.
There is a huge flower/plant decoration deal in the middle by the salad bar, I’m wasn’t particularly a fan - seems cheap and just adds to the Chinese buffet vibe. I’d recommend someone in the leadership team go visit the Brazilian Carnaval Grill in Sioux Falls, SD to get some pointers on what a nice vibe for a Brazilian restaurant should/could be. If you do, be sure to notice the draft beer selection (they sure make it seem more ok to over pay for drinks by serving it on a nice glass), watch how many guaranás are being served throughout the place and notice how they turned the abacaxi into a delicacy as they bring them around the rodízio instead of just leaving it at the salad bar.
We had 2 main servers, Jackson was clearly the more veteran one. He is from the Vegas location - still, he seemed spread thin and had very little help. The place will miss him when he goes back to Vegas in a couple of weeks.
Our drinks were very slow. I ordered the first drink when we first sat and then finally got to order another one and the desert drink right before we got our check almost 2 hours later. Our table could’ve easily ordered 3 bottles of wine would we have had the chance to order after we were done with our first drink, but we went thirsty for at least an hour or so.
The food was great! The gauchos did come around, but I don’t believe (not sure) we were offered every cut they have. I didn’t think the spicy picanha was spicy, but it was delicious. The Brazilian sausage, despite it not being an expensive cut, was also really good and I would definitely eat it again.
I’m glad the place is open and in business. Our overall experience wasn’t outstanding, but I am glad there’s now a churrascaria in Omaha and I hope they figure out how to improve their service. I see potential, but they have...
Read moreWe went for New Years Eve. It was myself and my husband, plus 6 other friends. I knew it would be busy as it is a popular new restaurant and New Years Eve. I also know what it is like in the food service industry as I was a waitress for 10 years putting myself through school and different degrees. That is the main reason I hesitated to write this review.
Anyway, we had to wait a few for our table. No big deal, it was busy and we had no where else to be.
The restaurant is beautiful. The staff was very friendly. The salad bar was amazing with lots of harder to find items or more gourmet items such as dates, figs, hearts of palm, charcuterie, roasted garlic, and more. The meal was a blaze of meats and talking, and drinking, and more meats, and more meats, and more meats. They kept coming in waves like the ocean. It was almost overwhelming at times, but so much fun. The food was delicious. My favorite was the spicy steak and bacon wrapped chicken. There were a few bumps here and there. Such as an overcooked piece that couldn't be eaten and a completely raw piece of steak and bacon. The bacon was still jiggly white. No worries. The rest outweighed that little bit.
Here is where my review takes a turn. I believe our waitress was overwhelmed. She got our drinks wrong half the time, forgot to order drinks, got our desserts wrong, finally brought bread out at the very end of our meal. When we wanted to pay, we waited over an hour. She did half our table. Left the credit card reader at our table. Came back, grabbed it and went to another table. Cashed them out. Served a few more tables. Then, finally came back and checked the rest of us out. That being said, she was absolutely friendly and always smiling even though she was overwhelmed.
The second thing was there was a horrible smell every so often wafting through our section. We asked our waitress about it. She said it was the sewer lines and that this area of the restaurant gets the smell particularly bad. I don't know what needs to be done about that, but it is very unappetizing to try to eat with sewage smell lurking around the table. Several of us got up at different times throughout the meal to go outside for fresh air.
Will I go back? Probably. But, I will be requesting a table away from the section that gets the smell worse than others. Yes.
We spent over $600 for...
Read moreFirst off, I would like to say this is the most unique experience in dining that I have ever had. I have never been so happily overwhelmed when going to a restaurant. I enjoyed the different options and selections of meat there as well as the giant salad bar buffet with a hot appetizar bar as well.
I have been to this restaurant 4 different times; 2 times with a group (6-8 people) and 2 times as a couple. Both of my times as a couple were 10/10 experiences with no issues!
On the other hand, when going to this restaurant within a group, I have been disappointed in service. Yes, I understand when a restaurant gets busy, so I will not base any part of this review on that. My issue is that we are served our first round of meat. Then, we all wait (and I mean everyone in the entire restaurant) waits patiently for another round that is being cooked. After the second round of food is cooked, they continue to serve the small groups and couples, but blatantly ignore big groups.
I've discussed with some of the other group members about them avoiding our tables. I even raised my hand to a carver so that my table could see what he had, he looked directly at me and smiled but turned away. This seemed very disrespectful to me because we just wanted more meat, at an all you can eat restaurant.
I've gotten some opinions from people in both my groups that maybe there is a time limit or maybe a limit to how much they can serve to a party to save money, but shouldn't that be disclosed on their website? I think it's deceiving to say all you can eat and then not disclose that this is untrue.
Lastly, our server was very busy, which I understand. However, from the past 3 times, we were all asked for any last cuts of what we'd want. This last experience, our waitress seemed to try to rush us to wanting dessert or a check, which adds to the idea that maybe there is a limit. I didn't make anything of it because my group was ready to go upon seeing us be ignored.
Overall, I love the food but there has to be some type of disclosure on meat limits or time limits, and different ways to let the party know about this to avoid frustration...
