The Tavern — Restaurant in Omaha

Have never made a review before but had to login to make one for this establishment because if it happened to me I’m sure it has happened to others. They ILLEGALLY added a $5 tip to my bill after paying with my debit card. Went out Saturday night and bought two drinks that came to a total of $13 and I paid with my debit card and left no tip. Monday morning I check my bank account statement and I was charged $18 at The Tavern. It is quite unfortunate that an establishment I’ve liked ended up doing something ILLEGAL. I had never seen this bartender there before, if I was management I’d strongly reconsider who was just hired before this kind of behavior begins to become common and the doors to The Tavern are closed...

Zero customer service. (Not for the first time.) When I tried to ask friendly, conversational questions, bartenders were flat out rude and didn’t even try to talk to me until it came time to pay. Clientele were also hostile to me when trying to have the ONE discussion that I was able to get from the bartender. Very cliquey place. If it’s a basic drink you’re looking for, look elsewhere. Everything here is mediocre at best. I like to be reasonable with reviews but it’s hard to when every experience I’ve had here has ended with me wishing I’d spent my money elsewhere. Seriously, go...
