After a highly stressful day, my family and I decided to eat dinner at one of our favorite places. This was our first time dining at the Ontario location since before COVID shut everything down. We were greeted as soon as we walked in by two cheerful hosts. Both smiled widely and made good eye contact. Using a friendly and welcoming tone, one of them asked how she could assist us. After explaining that we were there for our reservation, one of the hosts invited us to follow her to our table. As we arrived at our table, I appreciated her asking if the table would work for us as my husband hoped to catch a little of the game while we dined. The relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant was very inviting. The noise level was very comfortable, even with multiple televisions showing the various games. I noticed the table and booth seats were very clean and well-maintained. A few moments later, our server arrived to greet us and introduce herself. My entire family was so excited to see that it was our favorite server, Holly. The previous times we dined at the location, Holly was always a fantastic server! At that moment, I knew instantly I could relax and enjoy our family time as we would be in great hands. Holly has always been friendly and engaging, even on busy days. Holly makes it a point to remember the faces of her regular guests and the unique things they like. For me, this is what sets her far apart from the pack. Holly explained the menu changes that have come into effect since we were last in. I was pleased to learn of the new rewards program that is being offered at the restaurant. Holly explained it so eloquently using easy-to-understand terms. Holly promptly took our drink orders before she left, giving us time to look over the menu. A short time later, she returned with everyone's drinks and asked if we had any questions about the menu and if we needed a few more minutes to decide. In continuing to build rapport, Holly asked about our two other children, who usually dine with us. I was beyond impressed that she remembered such specific things. This sort of treatment is what keeps us coming back time and time again. Holly takes care to make everyone feel welcome and valued. Holly proceeded to take our orders. Our food was served at the appropriate temperature and was well displayed. No adjustments to our food were needed, as Holly made sure everything was perfect before bringing our food out. Holly checked in on us regularly as we ate and chatted amongst ourselves. She refilled our drinks without being asked and ensured we didn't need anything. The food was delicious! My husband had the ribeye steak and commented that it was prepared perfectly. For one of my sides, I tried the roasted green beans, a new menu item. They were delicious! The rest of my family enjoyed their meals. We had a wonderful experience at this location. Everything and everyone was terrific. However, I wanted to shout out Holly, as she was indeed the superstar! She helped turn a stressful day into a relaxed time out with my family. Thank you, Holly! We APPRECIATE YOU! My only complaint is that we should have come...
Read moreWas excited and soooo impressed with the Ontario Black Angus on our first visit on Monday... Jessica provided excellent service, the food and drinks were DELICIOUS, the young man who seated us and conversed with us was a sweetheart and it we had an EXCEPTIONAL overall experience. The bartender amped up my mixed berry mojito by adding blueberries to the drink and topping it off with a blackberry! We COULDN'T WAIT to return to Ontario Black Angus! Unfortunately, we SHOULD have waited. We returned two days later on Wednesday and now I doubt we will EVER return to that location again. Food AND service SUCKED, even the berry mojito was bland and sub-par and the lone slice of lime on top exhibited a true lack of creativity or motivation on the bartender's part. My porterhouse pork chop was supposed to be MEDIUM RARE but it arrived medium well on one end and well done on the other... to the point where the meat was beyond browned on one end. I brought a matter of uncleanliness to the attention of management involving the filthy appetizer plates that were sitting stacked on the table when were seated and it/I were pretty much dismissed as if it was no big deal. In fact, the lady manager said "Clearly there is exvess 'residue' on the plates." REALLY? No, Lady, tjat was DIRT and CRUD. After all was said and done no comp or discount was offered for my entree despite it being beyond overcooked and my having to wait for a new entree to be prepared. Anger makes me want to say that everyone who was on duty Wednesday and had ANYTHING to do with our table should clock out and never return. I'd informed the server at the beginning of our daymare that I had a coupon - I always tip based on the original, pre-discounted amount - but for some reason Amy apparently felt she'd done us a favor by ringing it up as a coupon. Go figure! I took pictures but if I post them the restaurant will immediately know who I am and I do not want any acts of retribution directed toward me or my family via our food should we EVER decide to return. In the meantime I guess I'll be looking for another Black Angus. You know what? Forget it, I'm posting the pics. THEY didn't care, now neither do I. I always end up spending at least $150 (two adults, one child) when we dine at Black Angus and even with the "coupon" Wednesday's $131.76 felt like a slap in the face and swift kick in the rear! Oh, and when Amy returned with my change she specifically stated she was giving me change for $132... she rounded up! The filthy plates, overcooked appetizer, my overcooked porterhouse pork chop, "watered down" mojito and lame service made for not just a wasted hour's drive to get there and 45 minute drive to get home but just a.bad experience altogether. So very...
Read moreWhere to start... I made a reservation for 2 at 8pm for our 14th wedding anniversary. We sat between 2 booths with a handful of people. Our waitress' name was "Holly S", at least that's what it said on our receipt. The only time we really saw her was when she took our order. She was more worried about the other tables around us. We ordered the Tamahawk medium. Right off the bat, the order is over $100. You'd think we ordered off some kind of value menu with the way we were completely ignored when seated. It took forever. Trying to flag down our waitress for more tea was a nightmare. When we finally got our steak, it was extremely overcooked. She kept smiling and nodding her head as if I would happily agree that the meal looked great. No ma'am. Not on my anniversary. When Holly asked how our food was, my wife began telling her that the steak was over cooked, but not before Holly interrupted her to (AGAIN) tend to her other tables. She went to the table with more people to make sure THEY were taken care of. I told her I would like another steak medium at most. Then, we had to wait another 30-40 minutes for the cook to make another streak. Extremely frustrating. Again.... trying to flag down our waitress for something to drink was like trying to pull teeth. Our sides were good. I will not complain about them. But when our steak finally arrived, our server thought she would bring out another order of sides (as if it would make the situation fine). The 2nd Tamahawk was great. But still the entire time, our waitress was nowhere to be found. When I would try to flag her down, it was very short answers followed with a side eye. When I asked the service assistant for some boxes because I was ready to go, she stopped rolled her eyes and left quietly. Pardon for asking for assistance, but if our server was around, I would have asked her. Very unprofessional. What was worse, when the other 2 tables left, Holly was trying to crack jokes and make us laugh (no doubt to ensure a tip). Sorry. I lost interest a long time before. Now, at this point (thinking over the night), I did not think the $60 cash that I pulled out was an acceptable tip. I wasn't planning on leaving anything, but my mother raised me better than that. So, I still left a little something for Holly. Worst 2 hours "celebrating" our special day. Thanks,...
