Chipotle Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Ontario

Edit 3/4/25: it’s been a year and we decided to give Chipotle another try. The last two months we’ve been coming have been 100 times better. Everything is fully stocked. Portions are great. Things are hot and fresh. Staff are friendly and on top of it! So glad we decided to give them another try. I asked if they got a new manager and they said they got a new GM. It shows - keep up the great work!

We did an online order the first day they opened but gave some grace because I understand they were crazy busy and it was the first day opening after a lot of anticipation. We went back last week and it seemed like everything had gotten worse. We went into the establishment to order and eat there. I noticed flies were everywhere even behind the glass on food. I asked for chips and queso but was told they don’t have any chips. We ordered 3 bowls and everything was extremely cold especially the carne asada. I had to request more rice because they tried to do 1 very small scoop for a rice bowl. On one of the bowls, they put so much sour cream on it that it was disgusting as it completely soaked all the food and my daughter couldn’t eat it. I wasn’t able to watch them put it on as I was ordering 2 more bowls at that time. We sat at the barstools and the counter was absolutely filthy. We tried to give them a 3rd try with my parents today and walked in to order to see a sign that says they’re OUT of TORTILLAS, BEANS, and queso. We turned around right away and left. How are we supposed to get a burrito and beans are one of the main ingredients? I wasn’t going to pay full price and not receive all wanted ingredients. I have loved going to Chipotle the last 15 years, but never have I seen such a poorly managed Chipotle as this one....

Either Chipotle corporate did not set this store up for success before opening, or the manager has no idea what they’re doing, maybe both.

We arrived at 7:45 Sunday night and there was a sign on the door saying they’d be closing early at 9 due to short staff. There were about 10 people in line in front of us. The way they designed this location, if there are more than 10 people in line, you’ll have to wait outside. The line didn’t move at all for about 5 minutes and 6 people in front of us left. As we were standing in line, a guy walked in past us into the back and put on the dishwashers apron and started washing the dishes with no uniform on, just wearing his casual streets clothes. That’s something I’ve never seen at any location before.

When we finally were able to order, the line staff were less than enthused to help us. They were out of tortillas, white rice, both beans, fajitas, sour cream and guac. When you’re out of that many items, you really shouldn’t be charging full price for an entree.

We sat outside to eat and as we did they decided to close an hour earlier than they had posted on the door. A lot of people drove in, walked up to the door and went back to their cars looking understandably unhappy. Two employees came out and sat near us after they closed. Every other word out of their mouth was f this and pretty much every foul word you can think of. Just another lack of professionalism at this location.

Do not go to this Chipotle. We ordered for pickup at 6 pm and was not ready until 6:20 pm, was not given complete order and when I drove around and went inside and three different employees and the manager told me they knew they were out of those items all they could say is sorry we are out. I had to talk to two employees and then the manager and none of them could understand the conscept that I should not have to pay for items that I did not receive. Finally the manager said oh we can't give you a refund in the store again with sorry we just dont have it. After I got a little upset and said I am not paying for something i did not receive she gave me a number I had to call to try and get my money back. My mistake also for giving a tip on online order ahead of time for terrible and crooked service. Ohh, and by the way the food I did get was cold and other than a little spice was tasteless.
