Always great food and friendly service. Can't beat the buy one get one free Saturday special. Picked up eight sandwiches and two orders of fries to go with some homemade Brunswick stew that I had already. My thought was I would have enough for dinner for myself and a couple of friends or maybe even leftovers for supper. Got the order to go and it was 20 dollars and some change which is awesome for the amount of food not to mention the great taste to go along with a clean establishment that also has polite employees that don't make you feel like you are bothering them by actually eating there and having to take your order. In fact they make you feel like you are appreciated for spending your money there and that's not that common anymore. It's great to know that some businesses still exist where they are actually concerned about what they do and how they go about doing it. Turns out that on the way home the food smelled so good I decided to eat a sandwich on the way and it was amazing as always. I decided to have another because I couldn't make myself wait until I got home because it's just that good. I got home and my girlfriend and I were going to have lunch and before it was said and done we didn't have any friends for dinner because we had eaten all the sandwiches except for one and didn't have the leftovers we thought we would after all. Next time I will definitely get at least 12 sandwiches and maybe have those friends over after all. If you haven't already definitely stop by and try the barbecue. You'll be glad you did and remember by one sandwich get one free on Saturday. It's...
Read moreAs far as I'm concerned, Chuck's has the best ribs in the area. I'm fortunate to be in a position to send alot of business their way for this reason, and everyone I've sent agrees with me.
I'm one of those guys that really loves BBQ. To the extent that I've sampled every BBQ joint I possibly could in the area and have certain places I go to for certain things. I've got a place for sliced pork, a place for BBQ sandwiches, and a place I go to when the sides really, really matter. I've also got a place I only go to for their sauce, and that's really my only knock of this place.
To me, mustard-based sauce is just wrong. Granted, I don't like mustard in general and literally only use it as a "glue" for my spices when I smoke my own pork. The only thing more blasphemous than mustard-based sauce is that awful white bbq sauce that Alabama is supposedly "known" for, but my rant wouldn't end if I got started on that garbage.
To that end, I'd like to see Chuck's offer a tomato-based sauce as well, but I also understand that sauce for BBQ is a deeply personal thing and that such a thing is probably off the table. So if that never happens, when I want ribs and don't want to/can't make my own, 80% of the time I'm still heading to Chuck's all the same.
Sometimes I'm too lazy to have to go to multiple places to get my rib fix, and because of that I'll occasionally dabble with sub-par ribs from elsewhere just because they offer a tomato-based sauce. Of course I'll occasionally make a big batch of my own sauce and end up heading over to Chuck's anyway.
So if you're looking for ribs,...
Read moreI recently visited Chuck's BBQ Restaurant with high hopes of enjoying a satisfying barbecue meal. Unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations in several aspects.
Firstly, the staff at Chuck's BBQ Restaurant lacked friendliness and enthusiasm. They seemed disinterested and unhappy to be there, which created a negative atmosphere throughout my visit. Customer service plays a crucial role in enhancing the dining experience, and it was disheartening to see this aspect lacking.
Moreover, the quality of the BBQ itself was quite underwhelming. The taste resembled that of a refrigerated grocery store BBQ, which was far from the authentic, smoky flavor I had anticipated. The lack of freshness and depth of flavor in the meat was disappointing, and it failed to leave a lasting impression.
In addition to the disappointing BBQ, the portion sizes of the sides were quite small. They were served in little containers, allowing for only 4 or 5 bites. This left me feeling unsatisfied, considering the price I paid for the meal. At $30 for two meals, I found the overall experience to be overpriced and not reflective of the value received.
In conclusion, my visit to Chuck's BBQ Restaurant left me feeling disappointed. The unfriendly staff, lackluster BBQ quality, and inadequate portion sizes of the sides did not justify the price I paid. While I appreciate the effort to provide BBQ cuisine, there is room for improvement in several areas to deliver a more satisfying...
