if i could leave 0 for service i would,,, my husband and i came in with our 2 year old and ordered loaded fries a burger, kids meal, and salad, along with a togo order for my sister. i asked for the ticket for the togo order as it was placed so my sister knew how much money to send me. i read the togo order verbatim from the text and our server (april) rang that in wrong, im a server myself so i understand things happen, however it just kept going. she forgot my appatizer that i ordered totally, which she got and didn’t put on the ticket thankfully, however she did not check on our table hardly at all. the entire 30 mins we were waiting on food (and an appetizer i was under the impression was coming) she did not walk over to the table. there was one other table when we walked in and two bar guests. had i been able to tell she was busy i would have shown more grace because i know how it is, unfortunately she just stayed leaned on the bar talking to the men at the bar rather than coming to check for refills, if we needed anything, or even to see if our food was good once it came out. she did not table touch after receiving our food so if something was wrong she wouldn’t have known. our togo order was placed the same time as ours and we did not receive that til we were paying out. she did not come back to collect payment so we just left it on the table. i understand serving tables things happen but the very least you as a server can do is communicate situations with your table and be attentive to their needs… the only time she started coming to the table was towards the end of our meal when she could see i was visibly upset.
i even left a note, which i have NEVER done before
here’s a pic of the note i left and her chilling behind the bar not checking on...
Read moreSo myself and a friend decided to go to Jefferson's to have dinner and that was the biggest mistake. First off we could not hear each other talk due to the loudness of other people at the bar drinking. We were sitting in a booth so we weren't that far from each other. Maybe 2 ft if that. We ordered the fried pickles appetizer and it came fairly quickly. Actually the waitress stated that they had just pulled them out of the fryer. So that would explain the sogginess of them. They had been precooked hoping that someone would order them. Then we place our order... my friend got the black and blue burger as bacon with fries. I ordered the turkey club wrap with fries. Keep in mind there were about 10 people inside everyone was at the bar drinking except of us two. An hour passes by and finally I go ask if someone can check on our food and a waitress (not ours because she is out of sight and had been since delivering our pickles and drinks) tells me they are waiting on the Turkey wrap. Another 15 mins go by and finally our food comes. And it is horrible! Fries were cold as ice and tough to eat. Almost as if they were not cooked thoroughly. Not to mention they were so salty that we wouldn't have been able to eat them if we tried. Now to the burger...it too was very cold and my friend started it had no flavor to it at all except for the taste of cardboard. Needless to say for 35.00 and 1 hour and 15 min wait for a burger and fries, turkey club wrap and fries it was not worth it. We decided then we will never return. I wouldn't waste my time or money at Jefferson's unless you have...
Read moreStopped in at this restaurant/sports bar for a little lunch during a community gathering in downtown Opelika. With several large TVS showing a variety of sports offerings and a 4-seat bar top, this compact eatery makes the most of it's space by using outdoor patios on either side of the dining room for additional seating. The specialties of Jefferson's are burgers, wings, and oysters. We opted for the burgers this time and found them served hot, tasty, and served in what cooked to order food takes. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. In fact, the only drawback was the noise level in quaint establishment and it was not because of the sports offerings. There were two groups with small children and it was apparent that the adults were catching up in a volume loud enough for me sitting six feet away to follow their intimate conversation without trying. Of course, this meant that others at the table and across the room had to raise their voice to be heard. My SO and I just couldn't compete so our meal was mostly in silence. Don't let that deter you from trying out this wonderful little delight and next time I'm trying...
