Marble Slab Creamery — Restaurant in Opelika

Went to this location yesterday, 5-11-25. My wife simply wanted some ice cream for our anniversary. Standing in line and the two teens in front of us get greeted (nothing said to us), ok. One person start getting the orders/ice cream for them and we are still standing there waiting to be served. Three people are behind the counter, One young man actually getting together people‘s ice cream and two girls doing absolutely nothing. White family (3 people) comes in and one of the girls behind the counter walks past us and greets them, tells them they can sample flavors. We are looking back and forth because WTH. White lady walks around us to look at the flavors and we are looking at the girl behind the counter and still NOTHING. (It’s been several minutes) I take my wife back to the car and go back in. The girl behind the counter finally looks up and walks to me to ask if I needed something. I silently went off. Told her that we had been standing there the whole time, made eye contact with her and the others, no one greeted. No one asked if we needed anything. And that was rude AH. And I told her you sat here and served this white family who came in behind us. We were standing right here, looking you in your face. She was just 😯😳😟😨 Judging by some of the other reviews, this seems to be the level of service to expect from...

I usually love going to Marble Slab for ice cream. The ice cream is always delicious, but the service at this location made me my whole experience unpleasant. There were 3 teenagers working at the time we went in and it was obvious that none of them wanted to be there, or cared about what they were serving. The young man who helped me and my boyfriend was slow and unaccommodating. I asked for something specific (and really not complicated at all) and he refused to make it, even though I have had it done the same way at other locations. All of the employees were being very lazy and almost rude to the customers walking. EXCEPT for one lady who walked in after we had already paid for our ice cream. It was clear that she knew the young man and he had no problem smiling and helping her with anything she needed in a timely manner. Went to pick up my son's birthday cake today (scheduled pick up was today!) and the store is closed (3:20pm) Store personnel are in there at a table having a party and ignoring people coming to the door. A couple outside eating at the neighboring restaurant said I was the fifth person to come up to the door and try to get someone's attention but that they were just ignoring everyone. Since my cake was scheduled to get picked up that day I wish someone had told me when I ordered that they were closing early for a party! I would have happily been there earlier. But when you pick up an ice cream cake, you tend to make that your last stop! My son was so disappointed! We always get ice cream cakes for birthdays but I will never be ordering from this store again! (Last year when we ordered his cake from here, they had the order but never made it! We ended up picking out another cake and that was fine but...
