MK's Asian Kitchen — Restaurant in Opelika

The woman who answered the phone today, is apparently having a bad day! Ordered from Grubhub, and when it got to me, part of my order was missing. I ordered the lunch special and dumplings. Lunch special is supposed to come with fried rice. The rice was not in my order. When I called to ask about this, I was told I had asked for no rice and the dumplings as a substitute. I did not ask for a substitution! So she proceeds to very rudely ask what I wanted her to do about it, did I just want to get some rice...nasty attitude! I see other reviews talking about friendly staff, they must be sick today, because this lady spoke to me in a way, which would get most employees fired! I can’t tell you if the food was good, I was so mad, I threw it away! If the owners read the reviews, y’all need to speak to her about how she talks to your customers, because she lost...

I’ve been here a couple times in the past and the food has been decent enough to go back. I placed a to go order and was told, we’re pretty busy, it’s going to be 35 minutes. No big deal right? At the 40 minute mark I walked in and was told by the owner to have a seat. As I sat there, I watched this pattern occur 5 more times as to go orders walked in to pick up their food. After an additional 20 minutes of waiting, I was frustrated and asked the owner if she even started my order and she said no. So I left without food. It was was a complete waste of time. She didn’t even apologize. My guess is she’s been burned in the past with people placing orders and not picking them up. MK’s Asian Kitchen is hands-down one of our favorite spots in the area! The service is always friendly and impressively fast, whether we’re ordering in person or calling ahead for takeout. The menu has all the classic favorites you’d expect—lo mein, sesame chicken, fried rice, egg rolls—but what really sets MK’s apart are their rotating specials and more traditional dishes that you don’t often see elsewhere. Everything we’ve tried has been fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned.
