We visited Dicks last night as a group of 20. When we arrived we were greeted at the door by the manager who initially told me that there was no way our group could sit together that we would be spread out in the restaurant. Yet once my Aunt who is older started talking to her that all changed and we were put at 3 high top tables and was told that 4 of us had to sit else where because there would not be enough room. Once we arrived at the table there was already an extra chair pulled up to one of the tables which only left us with one person without a chair, so I asked the waitress if we could pull it over in which she agreed. A bit later the waitress split the drink by mistake on one of our family members which resulted in the manager speaking loudly enough to the waitress blaming us and the waitress for the spilled drink. I’m not sure what exactly was said outside of blaming us for pulling the chair up even though the table that had the spill was on the opposite side of where the chair was pulled up… anyways, the waitress was almost in tears because she was going to have to pay for the drinks and appetizer of the table that she spilled the drink on, so I told her I would pay for it. The next thing I know another family member is arguing with the manager who is once again accusing us of causing the spill. I tried to explain to the manager we did not pull any chairs up to that table, but she wanted to continue to argue with us to the point of harassment. We asked her to leave us alone several times, but she could not just walk away. Very very unprofessional. Once I told her we would leave after she threatened to kick us out for not agreeing it was our fault the drink got spilt she ran in the back and told the other staff members what happened. We will not be back there, but if the GM doesn’t have a conversation with this “manager” this restaurant will not make it. They lost a 20 person table top last night. That’s a huge loss of income all because the manager couldn’t walk away and had to be right about a situation that she was actually...
Read moreHere’s the deal. I’ve seen all the videos, we knew what to expect. We got told we couldn’t read fast enough, etc. We’re a family that communicates and shows love with sarcasm so we thought it would be the perfect fit. Our server didn’t have a name tag on and didn’t introduce himself—which, hey, expected—so I will describe him as wearing a pink ball cap and a Lowe’s apron. All of it was fine and funny until he made a “joke” about my sister in law and asked if she has children—when she said no, he said that was good because no one should want to have kids with her. Unbeknownst to him there has been fertility issues. That just hits way too close to home. Additionally, when we’d pop back with a joke he would belligerently yell “SHUT UP” over and over. I observed the other servers and of course they told their patrons they were too slow, didn’t want to take their order, used a bud light box instead of a hat, but they were much more in tune with their customers and I never heard them make a single “joke” about anyone’s appearance or ability to bear children so maybe that “set” was specific to our server. I read the disclaimer and have watched lots of videos so I felt well-versed in what to expect and was looking forward to the banter. However, there should be a line. Anyone that has suffered the loss of a child or has had fertility issues shouldn’t be subjected to that reminder at the expense of...
Read morePleasant, genuinely unexpected experience!!! We were walking through the Wharf, waiting for the Ferris Wheel to open while we browsed a few shops. One of the servers was out front, setting up the umbrellas and he told us to come back at 11:00 to have a good time for lunch. He and my husband kind of he he, ha ha'd with some adult crude humor, bc the Dick's employee couldn't "find the hole" for the umbrella. We got a little giggle out of it and went on down the walk way. After we traumatized the children with the Ferris Wheel, we were headed back to leave The Wharf and I said, hey, let's stop in and have lunch at Dick's. I had seen the menu online last year and gotten tickled at some of the dish names but, WE HAD NO IDEA what was to come. My husband oozes sarcasm from every pore of his body, that's just his "thing" but, the experience was so much FUN!! All 4 of us laughed at the others in the restaurant as they were being served and then our server, Zachary, got started, engaging our 11 yr old son and our 16 yr daughter. Have to say, this is now on the top of our list when we return to the area for vacation!! The atmosphere was great!! The food was excellent!! And the service was absolutely wonderful!! If your in the area, definitely stop by and shoot the $#!+ and have lunch with a big ol' side of sarcasm and...
