[Tip: As a rule, sort reviews by "Newest"] Thursday, August 3, 2023 09:52 - Four stars. Compared to previous visits (read below), today I was in a parallel universe. When I walked in, there was an employee actually standing at an open register!!. She immediately took my take-out order, and it was complete a minute later. My total time in the store was 90 seconds. I don't know what caused the sudden massive change in service, but this is not the same McDonald's as it's been for the last two years. There are still two ongoing annoyances: no receipts are given because the printers still don't work; and two of the menu screens are interrupted by animated ads for various items. The employee and I had to wait until the ads finished and a breakfast menu cycled back. Delicious breakfast sandwiches. Keep reading.
Sunday July 16 9:10 am - One star I waited 5 minutes to place an order, but none of the seven employees even looked in my direction. I finally flagged down a lady (manager?) who asked another employee to take my order.
I couldn't get a receipt because the printer wasn't working. Also, there were signs throughout the store saying the ice cream, frappe, latte, and "shake" machines were all broken. While I waited, two customers returned inside with wrong or missing items in their order.
Elapsed time for one Egg McMuffin? 21 minutes. But that didn't break the record. Keep reading.
Monday June 12, 2023 8:45 am - One star We have a new record! A 14 minute wait at counter to place a takeout order with nobody ahead of me. Then a 13 minute wait to receive it. Total time - 27 minutes for an Egg McMuffin. Over a dozen people inside were waiting for their orders and sharing mutual criticism of poor service. Not a smile to be found anywhere among customers or staff. The sandwich was very good. Keep reading.
Monday, May 15, 2023 9:30 am - Two stars The McDonald's in Orange Beach is understaffed. When I went in, I was the only person in line. But I had to wait while the employee at the counter was taking orders from drive-thru customers through a headset. It was two minutes before I could place a takeout order for a breakfast sandwich. After paying, I waited another minute while she walked to the back of the restaurant to get my receipt - the register printer was broken.
I was there eight minutes before the sandwich was ready. It was very good, but had been hastily packaged with both sausage and egg sliding out from opposite sides of the Egg McMuffin. I had to reassemble the ingredients. Also, the top half of the muffin and been torn into two pieces. Keep reading.
February 2021 - One star Went in yesterday for the first time in months. Service was better - five minutes total time to get my order (takeout). BUT... several employees handling the food - while technically wearing mandatory Covid masks - had them pulled down below their nose or chin. What's up with that? I'm leaving the rating at one star Keep reading. . 2020 - One star I've lived in Orange beach for 20 years. I went inside for a breakfast sandwich (takeout). The first thing I noticed was the high-tech animated menu board. First, you have to watch them cycle through different ads and menus to see what they're selling. And even then they don't show all the products. Thus even if you had inside information that other food choices existed, you still can't find the prices.
I asked for the well-known Egg McMuffin, which the clerk input as a Sausage McMuffin without egg. Having corrected that, I waited a full 12 minutes for the sandwich. While waiting, I watched three seated customers return to the counter. One was served a breakfast without any utensils. Another was missing a coffee. A third came back for a missing hash brown. And two drive-up customers - visibly upset - parked and came inside complaining of missing or wrong items.
The sandwich itself was very good, but hardly worth such an annoying and disappointing experience. Orange Beach needs to allow some competition. Say, a Burger King...

Then made it a big deal that I had to add it at the window even though I tried to order it twice at the window. We were waiting on our food at the window for 8 minutes and none of our food was even close to fresh. The basket of fries we ordered weren't even enough to fill a large fry, they were old and way over salted. The staff was not quite rude but definitely not close to nice. When leaving my husband told the girl at the first window thanks and she did the mmmhmmm noise and shut the window. The man handing out food was so impersonal that he never even spoke a word, he handed out our food and one drink and closed the window. I realize that a lot of places are short staffed but that doesn't mean customers shouldn't receive some resemblance of good service and if the food is old then the service should at least be good. It's hard to not be frustrated when it's an all around...
Read more11/22/2017, 7:02 p.m. Ordered a coffee and pulled up to the delivery window. I sat there almost 10 minutes, waiting for my coffee and watching the girl behind the window even though she knew I was sitting there, it was the chubby black gal with black slacks and shirt. A line of cars backed up behind me. I finally had to honk the horn, at which point she grabbed some food, stuffed it in a bag and handed it out the window. I politely told her I only ordered a coffee, and had been waiting now almost 10 minutes now, watching her standing behind the counter. At this point she became very rude. She poured my coffee and shoved it through the window, and continued with rude and belligerent comments, to the point I had to ask her to shut up. She then became aggressive, leaned halfway out the window and yelled at me "No you shut up!".
