Sonny's BBQ — Restaurant in Orange City

Yes, I’m writing this review for Sonny’s barbecue .The one located in Orange city Florida. I normally eat there once a week .I go through the drive-through. I always say what I’ m eating and a strawberry lemonade light ice.Whenever I get to the window.It seems to be the same Young lady at the window. She has the colorful hair. She always gets an attitude because I tell her light ice. She tells me that the machine is way on the opposite side. She was lying !it’s a container In a cooler right next to them. So she lied to me.If the cooler is empty. The main machine is maybe 20 steps from the drive through.. One particular day I went there I ordered my food and drink strawberry lemonade.The young lady at the window got upset because I said it was too much ice. I was looking at her and she was so mad. I was like I don’t think I should eat this food Or drink this lemonade.She was like why I said I don’t trust you. She asked why I said because your attitude.She was like no I wouldn’t do nothing like that. So I was looking and explaining to her. Why I didn’t trust eating the food. She said no!I wouldn’t do anything like that.Something told me don’t drink that.So I pulled up from the window. She didn’t see me, but I poured it out..November 7, 2024 I go to Sonny’s barbecue in Orange city Florida.like I usually do about 430 and I asked for my food and a, strawberry lemonade light ice. OK I pull off and goes across the street to Hobby Lobby and eat.All of a sudden I start freezing. I’m going inside the store. I start freezing real bad. I’m like what’s going on and I start feeling dizzy and drowsy . So I goes back and sit in the car. To cut the heater on. I felt so bad. I have family members in Deland I said let me try to get there.I was heading toward Deland. I had to stop at the racetrack between Deland and Orange City. I started throwing up for 10 minutes, it was disgusting. I couldn’t even drive to Deland from Orange city. I had to sit there at the RaceTrack awhile.Then I finally made it to Deland. I feel like it was food poisoning or someone poisoned me. I called and talk to the manager yesterday. She replied she never handled anything like this before . She transferred my call to the district manager. I talked to the district manager .She was more concerned of losing me as a customer. What about the experience the day before .She don’t understand what I went through. I had to sit there at my family member house for hours until I felt better. I had to take a shower I had a long drive. I mean she didn’t handle the situation correctly. I would NEVER eat there again.The district manager kept saying . I don’t know what could’ve happened . I thank God my body rejected it so...

Love a good pulled chicken dinner on occassion and it's always pretty darn tasty! The beans were nice and hot and flavorful as was the chicken. I ordered the salad bar to go with and it was only an extra $3.99 (i think?) to add on. Being that I took it home to eat, I was actually able to make 'two' meals out of one purchase because the portion sizes were decent. The girl that took my order at the bar as you go in was friendly, courteous and helpful in taking my order and bagging my stuff up to take home. Sonnys is a good lunch or dinner spot when you want to get your BBQ on! ☺

Update. 10-29-18 If I could give another star rating, today's visit would be a ONE star. When I arrived it was before the dinner hour. Since I was only placing a to go order of the salad bar, I had to stand at the bar for almost 15 min and had to ask some one that could see me at the hostess station, is there anyone here? More minutes went by and a young girl finally showed up to take my order. She then took my $100 bill and said she would have to go get change from the manager. Another good almost 15 minutes went by as a young gentleman and young girl with him was also waiting to pick up his order. When the cashier finally returned with my change, she just set it on the bar, didn't count it back to me and though she had already given my my to-go Styrofoam, she gave me no bag to place my food in or offered utensils, napkins, nothing. She hurried off and I went to get my food and then had to track someone down just to get a bag! It was very frustrating and gave me a new outlook on this Sonny's location. Apparently, they...

I’ve recently had a very disappointing experience at the Sonnys Bbq restaurant on Saxon Boulevard in Orange City, Fl. Incident: I called in an order for pickup on Sunday, 03/30/2025. After giving the order to Christine I asked her to read it back to me. It was accurate. I then explained to please check carefully and that my order was completed as ordered prior to me picking it up. I had ordered food for pickup a while back and when I traveled home I realized that one item was missing. As it was very inconvenient to return back to the restaurant, I didn’t want it to happen again. She said she understood. The order included 2 whole chickens but only one was sent home with me. I called from home and explained to Christine that I received only 1 chicken. She said, “I’m pretty sure there was 2 packed.” I replied that only 1 chicken was in the package. After being put on hold for a few minutes, Michelle (Mgr) asked me what was my complaint. After I explained everything she said to come back and I could pick up another chicken. I had 10 family members waiting for dinner while I had to make the trip again. I met Michelle who handed me a bag and said “hear’s another chicken and I packed it myself”. I replied “is that it”. She said “what else do you need “? I said “how about an apology or maybe a $10.00 coupon , or something. She then offered one free dinner at my next visit.
