Byblos Cafe in our favorite Old Towne Orange! Mediterranean. Lebanese, Greek Cuisine! We had Falafel Wrap and Beef Gyros! Delicious! Bryn - thank you for the awesome service! http://www.byblos.cafe/ FRESH, HEALTHY FOOD... SIMPLE AND DELICIOUS. Byblos Café, originally a Mediterranean market, has been a staple in the orange circle since the 50's. It was sold to Adel and Zalfa Mahshi in 1989. The family run business became a favorite in the town for Lebanese cuisine. Many locals loyally frequented the spot for their famous Turkish coffee. In 2022, Daily Dose Hospitality, the crew that also runs Bosscat Kitchen & Libations, purchased the business from the family. While Adel and Zalfa had the opportunity to retire, their son, Tim, joined the team alongside Pedram Yazarlou as operating partners. They have transitioned the cuisine to a Mediterranean fusion style with influences from Greece, Turkey, Iran, Lebanon, & Jordan. Let me first state that my mother has been coming to this location since the early 80's. My husband and I have been dining here since 2019, so we felt it super fitting to have our rehearsal dinner for our March wedding at Byblos Cafe....and boy were we blown away with everything from the smallest details, like our personalized menus and cute bride and groom drawing, to the delicious food carefully prepared for our occasion. The entire process from start to finish was such a breeze (which is super helpful while planning your entire wedding!) and Susan was a complete dream to work with. The night of was filled with wedding day anxiety and such, but we were able to unwind with family and friends and enjoy a meal with wonderful food, incredibly thoughtful and friendly staff members, and even a special Turkish coffee reading for me (the bride :). So, if you are thinking of a cute, long time family owned (I still consider this a family ran business after hearing all the stories that night!) right in the heart of Old Towne Orange, look no further than Byblos Cafe. They will treat you like family and create for you an experience you'll never forget!

Returning for the first time since the son took over, I was delighted to find that the essence of this establishment's culinary excellence remains intact. The food, as always, is delicious, providing a comforting familiarity that makes it a cherished spot. However, a tinge of nostalgia lingered as I discovered one of my all-time favorites, the tabbouleh, had been removed from the menu. Despite this slight disappointment, a silver lining emerged – a pleasant interaction with the owner. Being nice and expressing my fondness for the tabbouleh led to a delightful surprise; they graciously prepared a fresh batch on the spot. It's a testament to the personalized and accommodating service that adds a special touch to the dining experience. Even with the menu change, this place remains one of my favorite spots to grab lunch in the circle. The enduring deliciousness of the food and the warm hospitality make it a go-to destination, and I look forward to many more satisfying visits in the future.

We had a very jarring experience at this establishment. My friend and I went in during lunch and the place was empty except a party of 3 at a table. We waited around the front at the “Please wait to be seated” sign for about 5 minutes without being acknowledged. Finally we caught the man sitting at the front’s attention and asked if we could sit. He said we need to wait until he served the other table food??? This was so odd because he wasn’t in the middle of serving them food and could have just told us to seat ourselves at the 6 open tables. Either way we left to give him some time, and came back 10 minutes later. We asked if we can be seated now and he said it didn’t make a difference whether we sat at the table or stood, and so he told us to stand. Again, so odd. I asked him once again if we can just sit and this time he says that he doesnt want to serve us because of my “attitude”. I was so shocked at this response because he was being dismissive towards us the entire time and we were so patient. We left without saying a word, and the man (who I assume to be the owner) kept yelling behind us. This was genuinely such a bizarre and unprofessional experience. I have never had a restaurant be so impolite, and on top of that REFUSE service, and all we wanted was to sit and wait at the table???? Completely rude and would not recommend giving...

We got attacked in front of this restaurant last night by some random dude. (Police report filed btw) but the review isn’t about the food. It’s about the workers. this place has one of the most nasty female workers I’ve ever experienced in my life. Literally mocking us because we didn’t want the food that we ordered because someone literally attacked us outside. Instead of being helpful, when we asked if we could get a refund for the food we clearly weren’t going to eat because the police took us to get statements and blood was dripping down from everyone’s face, she decided to tell me that my job doesn’t matter (cause I said I work in customer service and this ain’t it) and use baby voice to repeat everything I had just told her. Just wild to me you can watch a 40+ year old man literally try sell us drugs outside this restaurant and when we said no we got blindly beaten and this is how the staff treated us. To the point where the manager had to come out after and apologize for her behavior and her words and still charged us for the hotdogs that were left there and weren’t eaten. (Mind you we would’ve ate them if this grown man didn’t punch this man in the face, ME in the face and shove the other girls down.)...
