Del Taco — Restaurant in Orange

This place is the absolute worst. We stopped after an unexpected visit from our 2 adult sons. 1:40 a.m. on a Tuesday. It was easy to see the dining area completely torn apart and two really slow moving employees looking down and shaking their heads as we approached. No one else around and we kept it simple we ordered 2 Value Meals 6 soft tacos, 6 hard tacos, 12 green bean and cheese burritos and 2/2 for $5 carnitas burritos (4 total). After paying with a credit card we waited at the drive thru window for about 10 minutes as I watched the two leave the buckets of black water and cleaning equipment to start preparing our order. Neither took without took off their dirty jackets they continually brushed down with bare, unwashed hands before I turned my engine off and nodded off. I awoke on my own another 27 minutes later to find our order nowhere closer to being ready. There were two pickup trucks behind me in line, both without the engines running or headlights on. It was only 4.5 minutes more waiting tine before one of the 2 man crew appeared carrying 1 value box and asked if we wanted hot sauce. I declined, but asked for a water cup instead and was that a mistake! The guy left the window again and stayed completely out of sight for 6 more minutes. I would have left but we didn't have all our food. When he finally reappeared, he handed me a small water cup and the other value box. Soon after we had the complete order and we left. My husband was so annoyed he began eating and we didn't speak until we were almost home."There is no meat in this Burrito!" Is all he said. Still driving I said "Maybe you made a mistake and took a green burrito instead of Carnitas" No. He was sure he didn't make a mistake because the value boxes didn't have any burritos in them! Our order, over 45 minutes later was 12 burritos short and no meat in 3 of the 4 Carnitas (2 for $5). As soon as we got in, I called that store repeatedly. Guess what? Came through the drive thru on 11.19.2023 and while waiting in the car for my food, I saw through the drive thru window the guy who took my order helping someone inside the store. He was getting cash/change for the customer. Then he walked over to me (drive thru window) and handed me the drinks that I ordered without changing his plastic gloves. So I told him that he needs to change his gloves before touching food/drinks after touching dirty money. He said he only touches drinks and not food. But that’s the same thing because drinks are still consumed like food. He walked away then came back as if he just put on new gloves. But I couldn’t be certain. Then proceeded with putting my food in the bag. When I got my food, I pulled out of the driveway and checked if they gave me all the food I ordered. I noticed I’m missing an item. So I parked the car and went inside. This time a woman helped me. She printed the receipt and checked my order. It wasn’t there so I had to order it. She didn’t even apologize. I guess what can we all expect from a cheap fast food restaurant, right?! But it all depends on the kind of people that works there and management. This particular store has nothing good to offer. I try and go back to the restaurant if things need to be fixed but at this location I have had so many issues I think it’s time to do a review. One employee at this location will never do no ice in the drinks even when she’s repeated the order back as no ice. I do have to ask for the order to be repeated now because I’ve had so many issues with the orders being wrong. When she hands me the drink it always has ice and I say hey I’m sorry I did ask for no ice. For some reason at this location I can order something like a small like a small sprite no ice and a small fry yet they still don’t get the order right. This morning the drink was not even put on the order. Ive worked in the food service industry for years now so I get but I would say 8/10 times my order is wrong. Night crew is the ones who get it right mostly. Anytime I go around 7am8am or anytime before 6pm it’s always the same woman and man who are just rushing through. The food when right is great!
